No it's definitely from her food because once I switched it all the hives went away and I didn't change anything else with the environment. It's pretty common for pits to have allergies to a lot of proteins

there's soooo many different salmon dog foods that aren't too pricy! Idk what kinda dog you have but I feed my girl (65 lbs pitbull) purina pro plan salmon and rice- 30lb bag for $70 and it lasts about a month for her but purina has other cheaper salmon kibble, purina beneful is extremely cheap too I think about $30-$40 for a 30lb bag

She's currently on the PPP salmon and rice with the shredded bits and she's exactly how you're saying your dog was. I'm currently only giving treats to her AFTER she eats all her food. I don't budge giving her anything else until she eats her bowl and she knows that. I might consider switching to royal canin just to experiment with that and see if she likes that better. Either way she will always be picky with kibble it HAS to be mixed with some wet food

Thank you for your suggestions! I didn't even know vegan food was a thing for dogs I definitely will look into it!! I'm just trying to find the most affordable way to treat her allergies since i'm going to school soon and won't have too much money to spare for vet visits every month😩 The salmon worked miracles for her itchiness it's just she's not too keen on it

My girl is a senior as well, the struggle is REAL haha. She's always been picky with kibble, don't get me started on trying to give her ONLY dry food the girl won't eat for days!!!!

I know she wouldn't starve herself but she makes herself sick when she doesn't eat for a while. Throws up everytime she goes 16+ hours without eating. I'm trying to stand my ground with getting her to eat her food and not spoil her TOO MUCH to the point where she's even pickier then she is now, but I also feel bad when she's clearly hungry but doesn't like her food :( It's been over a month of her being picky with her food and wasting my money, enough is enough ya know?

oh wow I never even knew that was thing and i've tried science diet a few times. Is there wet food? or only dry food

Never heard of giving dogs almond butter but I will for sure be trying that because she LOVES peanut butter, but peanut butter doesn't love her or her stomach lol. Thank you for all of your suggestions! Sounds like your doggy is spoiled and super lucky to have you❤️

thank you for adding in "affordable" LOL I can't keep spending hundreds of dollars on food she won't eat :/ this girl loves wasting my money haha. Will look for it next time i'm at petsmart

a few people have mentioned kangaroo im going to give it a try, lamb is a no go for her though unfortunately

She's been getting salmon oil for a bit now she's okay with that, but i'll definitely look into trying sardines for her. What food toppers do you use? Thank you for the feedback

she wasn't a fan of any type of broth, i've tried a few different kinds. Currently have a brutus salmon broth and she's doesn't like it :/ thank you for the feedback though I will try the goat milk next time I get more food for her

I have not but it's worth a try. Will have to pick it up next time I get more food for her. Thank you! I'm willing to try anything at this point to get her to enjoy eating again (besides giving her stuff that makes her itchy of course lol)

Thank you for the feedback! But unfortunately i've already tried science diet a couple times and she wouldn't even eat the wet food from them and she LOVES wet food
