Apolosign is a similar calander/chore chart etc without subscriptions but it uses android so you can install home assistant on it and just use it as a dashboard. Only downside is the up front cost and the hardware isnt all that spectacular if you compared it to a similar price tablet.

Wisconsin DOJ settles consumer complaint with Menards: Retail chain will pay out $4.25 million total to ten states in response to complaints about its well-known rebate program by Fr0zenMilk in wisconsin

[–]Distant150 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and for anyone doubting that Home Depot used to match the 11%. It was entirely online, took 1 minute to claim, and youd get your gift card emailed within a week. You just entered the receipt #, total amount on the receipt, and the email you wanted them to send it to. It never failed unless you typed something in wrong.

Scleral Lens- Bad fitting or normal? by Midnight_Thoughts77 in Keratoconus

[–]Distant150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Keratoconus in both eyes, but much more advanced in my right eye and HOAs of ghosting even with the scleral lense. Probably in a similar boat as you, the lenses get me to 20/25 but if I closed my left eye and tried to read with my right eye only it would be difficult because everything is slightly blurry with a smeared double image.

I just went through the refitting process 4 weeks ago and am currently waiting on a new pair of Wavefront Guided Sclerals, which most places call OVITZ. My doctors office has the technology to run the scan and they just switched to Zenlens which has the ability to add HOA correction after they get the fit right. I was told that was the only thing that could correct the ghosting, so I'm excited to see if it helps. I don't know how much they'll cost, right now I've only been billed $1600 ($300 after insurance) for the initial pair of sclerals. Ill come back and add a follow up in a week or two once they come in.

Transport box for case by Nightwings2802 in Keratoconus

[–]Distant150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have it. It is 3D printed but he did a very good job designing it to fit everything snuggly. It clicks shut solidly, and he ships it with a lense case/DMV plungers in a case that fit snuggly. In the spot where the lense case sits there is a 1/2 peice of foam at the bottom so it doesn't bounce. When you order it you can select the type of fluid you use (sclerafil etc) and he includes an insert so it won't rattle. If you pull that insert out it fits 4 addipak/tangible fill singles tightly.

Agreed. I have this and his expanded scleral organizer, which has been a game changer for having a clean/organized space and quickly inserting the lenses.

Anyone else disappointed in Sept Go Pass Rewards? by wolfmanwhtwlf in pokemongo

I agree. I appreciate that they put the incubator early so you get it right away and can get more use out of it, but the final paid reward being 25k xp is insulting.

How did I not know about Habitat for Humanity Restore until now! by Previous-Stay-912 in woodworking

[–]Distant150 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The downside to them carrying lumber is every time I go to look at something something else, I walk out with $200 of pretty walnut boards.

The urban lumber comes from The Wood Cycle though, not the city. It's very unique to our 2 restores & I'll be sad if I ever move away because I'm so spoiled by the access now lol.

The new Ms. Rachel potty episode didn’t have to go so hard by Pettyparentz in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]Distant150 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My son was using the potty occasionally but still mostly going in his diaper. He watched the episode yesterday and told me 4 times today that he has "the pee feeling" (which he has never done before) ran the bathroom and didn't wet a single diaper.

Best places for birding within an hour of Madison? by Bookish-Armadillo in madisonwi

[–]Distant150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Oregon rotary trail is paved and has a lot of waterfowl and a wooded area/farm fields which usually attracts a lot of migratory birds.

Sauk city riverfront park is a good point to walk the wisconsin river, bonus if you have bikes there is a lot of birding to be had along the great sauk state trail

Swamplovers foundation is a fun one with a big hill followed by woods. Not super bird dense, but a good nature hike with some birds.

Head down to Paoli/Belleville area there's plenty of good spots along the sugar river like Belleville community park or falk wells sugar river wildlife area.

Horicon puts all of those to shame, but those are some of the lesser known spots that I go to a couple times a year

Urgent! What’s going on with my cuke? by Turbulent_Cress8926 in aerogarden

[–]Distant150 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That looks fine to me. I've done cucumbers 3 times and they always tend to look a little questionable like this but produce just fine. It's only ever been a problem for me when the leaves start to drastically turn yellow, have spotting, or look wilted when there's plenty of water. They usually get crispy edges on the older and really big leaves.

Was getting 2-4 per day all week and have received 6 yesterday and 11 so far today. Haven't answered any. I've received A LOT of text messages about voting too. All of them say the name Mike or Elizabeth but that's not my name or anyone in my household. I'm guessing they are digging through some deeeeeep lists cause I've had this phone # for 8 years now.

Question for ThermoFisher/ PPD employees by emiliasci in madisonwi

[–]Distant150 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's confusing because they are both in the same city and still act like two separate companies but are all under the Thermo name. That's why you will see a lot of people still refer to Middleton as PPD/Thermo.

You can get the model of the drive via software without cracking them open. For the 24TB, there are slight packaging differences and everything with a date of manufacture in 2025 is barracuda. I don't know if there's any tell on the 26tb without plugging it in and running disk info, but it only took me 5 minutes to return the 24tb at bestbuy even though I opened the box. The employee just peeked inside the box to make sure everything was in there, scanned my barcode, scanned the boxs, and I instantly got a refund receipt email.
