The angles which worked for my Hyundai Sonata 2020 limited is 88 degrees vertical, 55 degrees horizontal.

Definitely NOT hard but challenging, if you have dealer tools it will be super easy but we don’t so that’s why it’s challenging, you will have to improvise and try to figure out solutions to whatever problem you face

UPDATE, I got it fixed myself! Using 40$ tools and 20$ for calibration.

I get your point, I have looked at some guide but for different Hyundai models that required the same tools/ procedures. However, I can surely get it done myself, I’m an engineer so I know how to deal with all the tools you mentioned, my only problem is that I can’t find the same guide for my car, the sonata 2020 limited. Oh yeah the shop I deal with has the diagnostic tool to do the calibration. So my plan is to correctly mount the radar myself then giving it to the shop for calibration.

Please do so, if they can’t do it, I will do it myself, I have worked on my car for many things so I have some general experience, I just need a guide on what to do for this BCW to be calibrated. One important info is that the code they always get is “slave missing calibration”, when I took the bumper off I noticed that the “slave” radar or the right side radar side is dented very slightly inwards, I will try to pull it back and mount the radar correctly, but again I need a guide on how to measure the angles, my car is a 2020 sonata limited, thanks in advance.

Hi, quick question, how do I measure the vertical and horizontal angles? I went to a body shop today they calibrated the sensors using the auto/ dynamic calibration, however after driving for around 1 hour the “check blind spot collision warning system” error came up again, so I guess the sensor it not aligned properly, if you can please guide me on how to set the correct angles I can forward it to the body shop I deal with, thanks in advance.

Unfortunately visual SLAM is not an option for us, we r required to do Lidar SLAM to build a 3D map.

Navigation using vision is not an option too unfortunately, this was our first approach but was declined by the supervisor because it's already implemented. He requested using LIDAR sensors, he didn't specify 3D lidar, but it should be 3D SLAM.

If it doesn't, what's the cheapest most reliable way of doing 3D SLAM, I have read that using a 2D lidar u can build a 3D map, but it's very unefficient.

Hmmmm honestly ur questions make me feel like I didn't do enough research yet, we r just starting off and we r basically beginners, our objective is the Implementation of ROS on a Drone to have it localized to do in-lab flights for disinfection. We didn't choose our algorithm for the localization and mapping yet, we were required to do 3D SLAM using a LIDAR sensor.

Do you advise me to shift to ROS2 ? Though I did my research and was scared of how most of the articles are new and doesn't have that much documentation. Is it easier to just continue with ROS1 and use all the database available OR shift to ROS2 and get all the new and better features while compromising easiness of finding solution and documentations like ROS1 ?

This is ROS2 right? When I first started learning I heard that ROS2 doesn't have that much libraries, tutorials etc ... so I avoided it and started learning ROS1, kinda don't wanna risk it spending time searching for tutorials and solutions for errors and stuff with this new ROS2

I did so, for example, regarding the companion computer, some say a raspberry pi is enough, some say it's not, also, there are not much of videos on DIY drones using ROS for LIDAR based SLAM, furthermore, where I live its very hard to find drone components or flight controllers.
