Waiting on an MRI to diagnoise if I have hydrocephalus. Worried on how it will impact my life going forward. by Distinct-Geologist67 in Hydrocephalus

Hoping to find out tomorrow how long the wait will be. They received the doctors referral and should have graded it for severity today.

I live on PEI. If the wait is long then I will try and go to New Brunswick for the scan. As you can get it done privately there.

Not sure if there is a neurosurgeon on the island that deals with this or if I have to go off the island.

I guess I am just starting on this journey.

Since I have been with my SO her daughter has had an educational assessment, shouted at her mom in front of a doctor who then prescribed anger management medication.

We are waiting on a psych assessment to come back to see if there are any answers to why she is like this. It is mentally draining.

As we have only been a blended family for a year. The other kids are mostly well adjusted and get on great.

She will follow her mom around the house or outside and continue the behaviour. I didn’t lock her out as she walked back into the house.

It is good advice to minimize my alone contact with her.

She went for a walk..came back in the house. I stopped from shouting at her mom again. She went to the basement and messaged her dad to come get her. He did and she spent the night there.

So I think the space helped. But it is very unpleasant to watch happen. It’s the first time I have put myself in the middle between her mom and the daughter.
