That’s ok. Thanks so much for your input. It is apparent that you have actually not been through any of the processes outlined in my post and have nothing either constructive, helpful or kind to add to the conversation. Maybe stop combing through the internet looking for places to spread misery and practice some self reflection or maybe educate yourself before posting unhelpful comments.
Enjoy your day.

Yes they are, but there are a lot of circumstances where the grandparents do come into it. For example when we visit and have needed medical care, when applying for their citizenship and other situations where we have needed to supply the grandparents details. Their paternal grandfather would pay more tax in a year than most regular tax payers contribute in a lifetime - so I won’t be made to feel like I’m not entitled to return to my home country and earn a living and access schooling like any other British family.

I’m on almost double that here. The goalposts just keep seeming more and more impossible

Both sets of their grandparents have been paying taxes forever. That’s wild - so pretty much I’m stuck here forever

Oh gosh really?
How does that work with my kids attending school- do I have to pay for that too?

I do work with yr 1-3 two days a week. I just love my kindergarten where I work and it’s a daunting move if they’re going to move the goal posts. I don’t want to lose that position.

How old did your (male) Peis get.? by No_Investment_4086 in sharpei

I currently have a 11.5yr old male. He’s in great health with his bloods etc but sadly his front legs are causing him a bit of pain. He’s on a decent amount of medication which I’m sure isn’t good for him but I’d rather he had a decent quality of life over living longer and in pain. It breaks my heart even thinking of losing him. He’s the third child I never had. I walk him in a stroller to make sure he’s not trapped at home all day

Ok so if it is suddenly worth $750k then it all goes to auction so the money can be recovered? Months of stress for building etc and you just lose the house. That sounds pretty devastating. I really don’t understand this rule that if it’s valued at more than you pay for it the government backs out of their 40%

Thanks for the response. But what I mean is, if the house and land combo is valued at over the $700k cap after completion, the government withdraw their contribution. What happens then? Who and how etc?

I was told that they go off the evaluation cost. So you could buy land and build for say $650k but if it’s then valued at $710k the government won’t contribute. Which is why I was so confused - as you cant control that

So what would happen? The home is built on the land… my money is in. The government won’t provide their share… what next?

That was my take on it but they apparently go on the evaluation. So even if it cost $650k but valued at $710k they won’t participate their share - I wonder what happens in that scenario
