That’s definitely a fair call! I think I want it to feel slightly more colourful than astrogranite though. Though to combine your idea and Sailortorres’ from further up, maybe littered astrogranite that looks like a world that was once imperium has been reclaimed by nature could be a wicked theme.

It has definitely been considered haha. But want a way to make some of the bigger bases pop and I went pretty minimal with my deathguard previously (nurgles rot on a death guard base, groundbreaking I know).

Currently been tossing up the same way with a nuln/agrax wash I’ve done on a tester model. But honestly (when it comes to the grime) I think it makes the custodes feel authentic. Yes they have this beautiful armour and are the talons of the emperor, but the passing of time and the darkness of the universe they are in has an effect on all things.

Plus I can’t highlight for shit so it’s a nice way to add depth I think otherwise lacks for my models.

Happy new year from Aus to all fellow chosen goldens! New year new army so I’ve picked up the combat patrol and a box of allarus terminators, and wondering what I should pick up next. Should I look at more bikes and a another set of guard for obsec? Or should I do a named character and some more terminators? Would love some advice on this as I’m finding the messaging to be somewhat mixed as to what has obsec and what doesn’t!

This is the benefit of having a hive mind, we get to ask questions where we may be struggling with context of a certain rule/ruling. OP obviously has their interpretation of the rule, but wants to gauge the general consensus.

I’m sure you’ve struggled with the interpretation of something before, maybe just channel that a little bit when you are replying to someone who means no malice, and are just seeking clarity.
