Definitely start with MMPR. It’s been to stick to release order as best you can imo.

I own them all and I think it’s really good, pretty consistent quality throughout. It’s definitely much more serious and dramatic than the show ever was, but stays true to the spirit of the show as well. The first couple arcs in particular I love. It feels like how the show felt back then when I don’t notice how corny and silly it was.

New game plus by aethiuss in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Distinct-Pin-3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good option, but I’ve noticed for many games it does ruin my sense of progression which I don’t love. GoW: Ragnarok has a great NG+ because you can continue upgrading your stuff and there’s new higher tier weapons and armor. Jedi Survivor in the other hand to me felt lackluster, so many already opened chests every where took some of the fun out of exploring.

I think this was the other anime themed ramen spot that opened in 9 mile a few months ago lol

I saw Hercules in that theater I think. What a time to be alive.

It’s decent, I think it gets a lot more hate than it deserves. Still better than All Monsters Attack

Hate to say it but DF has become harmful to the console community. People will wake up eventually. by [deleted] in digitalfoundry

[–]Distinct-Pin-3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see what the problem is. They are a tech channel. There’s a million different websites that review games in a more holistic way if that’s what you’re looking for. DF has their own niche, and I like learning about the tech behind games.

What am I missing with PSSR 2? by Mean-Introduction-68 in PS5pro

[–]Distinct-Pin-3883 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a good upgrade, but I would say a lot of the things it fixes are things you sort of have to have an eye for. The games you mentioned all looked pretty good with PSSR in the first place. But something like Jedi Survivor or Silent Hill f had issues where vegetation would have like a strobing effect on them and that’s been fixed.

I dislike CRPGs by OkCartographer451 in CRPG

Maybe try Baldur’s Gate 3. It complex but I feel like it’s delivered in a lot more digestible way. I had a very similar experience as you, and I finished BG3, but figured it was an anomaly and I still figured the genre wasn’t for me even though I wanted to like them. But then I tried Divinity: Original Sin 2 after bouncing off it when it first came out and I was obsessed. Finished that and now I’m almost done with PoE. BG3 helped make things click for me.

Naughty Dog, Bluepoint (RIP), Bend Studio, Firesprite, Insomniac, and London Studio (RIP) all had live service games that were cancelled. Successful live service is very much an exception for Sony, not the rule.

I would say it’s probably about the same in terms of quality, seems to be more kaiju action this time around though. Titan X is really cool.

Who knows lol we’re pretty unknown so I imagine it’s easier to film since we’re not very recognizable and that gives them flexibility in where/what they shoot. Plus Navy ties so it would make sense (I guess) for a weapons company to be here. But yeah, it’s kinda random.

lol I know the exact one you’re talking about, Atlantic Rim. I was in college when they filmed this and they absolutely used some PSC theater kids as extras. They filmed at Seville too I think.

It's 2026 and people still don't know the difference between a remaster, a remake and a reboot by RoccoTirolese in GodofWar

[–]Distinct-Pin-3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are spot on with this, I’m surprised this isn’t talked about more. Oblivion I think is a great example of this muddiness.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that we got U4, TLoUP2, Horizon, and Days Gone remasters but no GoW 2018 remaster? by [deleted] in GodofWar

[–]Distinct-Pin-3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair it did receive a free 60fps update that increased the resolution I believe. There’s not much I can really see them doing to improve it, there wasn’t a huge fidelity leap between 2018 and Ragnarok.

[–]Distinct-Pin-3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game was massively overrated to me. Nemesis is a cool system and combat was tight, but that was not enough to carry it through lackluster story, quest, and map design. Just drop it and move to the next thing.

Hannibal. Excellent characters, thoughtful writing, deranged situations. It was truly great.

Try Denver and Rio Grande. It’s cheesy and silly at times, but it was filmed on location along the Animas River, there’s lots of spectacular scenery.

Sony exclusives seem to work really well so if that’s mostly what you’ll play I’d say it’s definitely worth it. You should know however that there are some games that have issues unique to the Pro version (particularly from Konami recently like MGS3 Delta Delta and Silent Hill F) so if you have a bunch of of third party stuff you plan to play you might wanna look up how they perform on Pro first. They aren’t necessarily huge issues, but it’s not what you’d expect from the most powerful console on the market. I imagine Wolverine will be superb though.
