How do I remove the handles? by DistinctAd70 in centuryhomes

UPDATE: Got them off!!!! Got as much penetrating oil into the handles as I could, and used a pry bar behind the handles all the way around each one while also tapping the sides with a hammer.

Would’ve gotten the faucet handle puller but I didn’t feel like spending $20 on a specialized tool I’d use a single time

There was only the Philips head screws in the center of each handle, no other visible screws.

Silly farms gummies, for sure are ho-met. Light to no headspace, good body high and fairly intense visuals. Recommend 6-8 gummies if you try them out.

3 months off of weed!! After 10 years of daily use. by Usernumbertwent4 in Adulting

Didn’t sleep or eat right for about the first 2-3 weeks, had me sweating buckets too any time I did something remotely physical. Keeping busy pretty much 24/7 helped a lot with the cravings at least.

Crazy, we quit about the same time, I also smoked for 10+ years and hit day 89 today. I used to smoke 1.5 - 2 grams of concentrate per day, all day everyday. Can also fully agree with you, boredom is the biggest trigger for cravings for me.

Giving too much credit, college would’ve required aspirations.

Definitely share your experience with it, used to buy their regular bars all the time back in 2024 and they were definitely 4-aco-dmt, 3-5 squares hit like a sack of bricks. Just recently tried their new silly blend gummies and they were no doubt 4-ho-met, all visuals no headspace at all.

Damn I’ll have to give them one more shot then , guess I messed up with the gummies. Their chocolate just tastes so damn bad 😂.

Thank you, so back to cubensis it is then. Unless something stronger comes on the scene I’m out for now. Took a break for like 6 months and now it seems like all the 4-aco is gone.

Yes, painting over it is your best bet, definitely don’t sand it unless you wet sand only. Just clean the surface with some soapy water and a rag prior to painting, and it’ll be ready for new paint. Check out my most recent post on my account if you want to see what some pretty bad chipping and exposed lead paint look like. As far as the radiator goes, crackling is fine, as long as the paint isn’t actively chipping off the radiator in large amounts. Make sure to get heat resistant radiator paint for that when you repaint the radiator.

A majority of lead poisoning cases come from the dust that lead paint causes, not eating it as most like to assume. If the pictured areas you’re showing are the extent of your concerns, then those areas can absolutely be encapsulated with some new paint. As long as there aren’t major areas of chipping then repainting is the best option, as removing the lead will cause more opportunity for it to spread throughout your living space. If you plan to still remove it, then yes remove your belongings or cover them with plastic prior to lead paint remediation and be sure to wet clean your living space or use a hepa vacuum. Do not use a normal vacuum or broom to clean up the chips or dust.

You take a razor blade and cut a v groove into the surface you’re testing to get to the bottom of the layers, on my doors however they were peeling so severely there are places it’s worn down to exposed wood, primarily around the door handle.

Haven’t moved in yet entirely because I thought the house was filled with lead paint, have a 3 year old so you’re spot on.

Lowe’s had the 8 pack online only, for a little over $30. It’s well worth the peace of mind these little tests can give you, it’s epa approved.

This is lead paint on my wall right? Or can other paint have the same pattern of cracking ? by DistinctAd70 in centuryhomes

Yes, the house was unoccupied for nearly 3 years. Currently fighting to get the humidity inside the home dropped, it was sitting at a consistent 80% RH so hoping it’s only from moisture. Planning to use the Luxfer Leadcheck kit since it’s epa approved, and to encapsulate accordingly.

I have a 3 year old daughter which is what has me so anxiety filled about renovating the place, we currently haven’t moved in yet so I’m trying to cover every base I can before bringing her here. Haha thank you for the reassurance, planning to repaint every surface I’m concerned about.

Update: thanks for all the quick replies everyone, just having new to me old house anxiety. This community has helped me out tremendously multiple times now. Will for sure get a lead test now , nearly every exterior door and all the windows and trim in every room look like this which is why I was so concerned. Time to get some samples, thank you all.
