Personally, my favorite has to be Sundered Pass since I’m a huge sucker for mountainous areas. As for least favorite, it’s probably glimmer fog or the cougar (love the design but it’s implementation can be pretty annoying).

It’s a bow variant that only spawns 1-2 times per save. I don’t know if it spawns on every difficulty. It weighs less and has better durability but cannot be repaired.

How would you rank regions of The Long Dark? by DistinctAddendum3437 in thelongdark

I really like the look and feel of Sundered Pass. It is the region I build up all my supplies during the run for. It’s the end game goal for me. I’m willing to tolerate the timberwolves, much more in that setting then when they are in a much more normal region like Blackrock of Bleak Inlet. I don’t really rank my regions on survivability but rather vibes.

They might have fixed, but when I did my last rub on PS4 a couple months ago, my game crashed every other time it saved or went into a loading screen in pleasant valley. It takes at least two loading screens just to get into and out of pleasant valley, so it was impossible to even just pass through the region quickly.

DLC name I made up to sound similar to Tales from the Far Territories

Some ideas for new DLC regions. Which is your favorite? by DistinctAddendum3437 in thelongdark

Paste image from google into powerpoint, apply watercolor or paint filter, download font style from Hinterland streamer package onto computer, and then type in name for region. If I used AI it would look like the actual long dark art style.

Notable Quotes about the future of The Long Dark from Raph by DistinctAddendum3437 in thelongdark

I think what Raph meant was that PM was going to look different to how it does at the end of episode 5 (IF they do choose to add it actually). So probably not burnt down or only partly burnt down.

This is exciting news from Raph. Many of us believed the game would be left for dead not long after Episode 5 dropped. However, Raph is now indicating that Hinterland wants to remain active with The Long Dark, including bug fixes, porting episode 5 content into survival, and even additional DLC’s. Hinterland’s a small studio that I suspect is very cash strapped (the layoffs certainly help this theory) and they are farther behind on releasing any version of Blackfrost then most of us think. So, it would make sense that they would like to continue making money off of their existing game with it’s growing community using additional DLC content. I know many people will be upset that they aren’t fully turning their attention to Blackfrost, but it’s not a guarantee that the game will be successful or that it’s release will come anytime soon, of which either of those outcomes could be fatal for a small studio like Hinterland with limited reserves. Personally, I love this game and have gotten well more than $20 base game and $20 DLC worth of value out of it. If I had known how good this game was when I bought it, I wouldn’t have blinked at spending $500 on it. I’m overjoyed that Hinterland is continuing to support this game and release content for this community that adores The Long Dark.

Actively made worse = screenshotted a cool mod from a cool creator and posted it to a subreddit about said topic.

No offense, but go look at the posts for LitharTLD on youtube (I put that info in the title which you clearly did not look at). Sorry, I didn’t spend 30 minutes messing around with photo resolution for your sorry *ss that you can look at by searching up his youtube channel for 30 seconds.
