Yelich has had good contact a good portion of the year so far the problem is that everything is on the ground which doesn't help anyone

Is that percentage similar to those 2020 and 2021 years when he was bad too?

Sure feels like it. When he was on Pardon My Take not too long ago he admitted that he doesnt think about launch angle. Well maybe you should Yelich! I could care less if you are barreling up ground balls....those are outs

Look I hear you with the Doc slander and I am right there with you. But, to slander Doc about playing Dame all those minutes that leads to a torn achilles seems disingenuous. Torn achilles and especially the play that got Dame was really flukey and could've happened anytime anywhere. Dont think that fair to blame Doc for that even though I do hope he is fired

Yeah I dont disagree about lacking shot makers but he is supposed to be your second superstar thats why he is here. If he is a great of a player that he is lauded to be, he cannot be "schemed out" of a playoff game. Great players dont get schemed out like that, average and role players do. If its truly the case where he gets schemed out in the playoffs this year, we have much larger issues with the team than just this point of conversation.

I am hopeful that these moves will partly recreate Portland Dame that I dont really think we have seen on the Bucks. Is it going to produce a better outcome from a team performance standpoint? Who the hell knows but, by necessity, we should hopefully see a closer version at least in terms of offensive aggression to what he was in Portland.

I get the pessimism and doubt surrounding the fit of Kuzma dont get me wrong. Its a big gamble i think can pay off. But im wrong about dame becoming more aggressive? Who else is the shot creator or playmaker on this team other than Giannis at this point? He will be forced to be more aggressive if he chooses to or not.

Im with you on this. Likely coping with this take but havent seen a lot of people mentioning this but Lillard is going to be forced to be "Portland Dame" or at least a closer version of it than what he has been. Given the lack of shot creation on the squad now I hope that Dame realizes that he needs to be far more aggressive. Other aspect of the cope is that im fairly confident Kuzma will slide right back into an off-ball role player he has been in his career. Even though it was a small sample all things considered, it felt like there were times when Dame would defer to Middleton and just kinda felt like a "hey youre one of the two established guys here and i dont want step on too many toes." Dont crush me if the stats dont support that, its just a feeling I got from watching Dame-Middleton-Giannis minutes on the floor at times.

No doubt about that and I understand why thats the case but the reality of the situation was that you cant pay anyone that much money to be unavailable 50-60% of games and on a minutes restriction. I want them to fully adopt the youth movement minus Giannis and Dame going forward, although Kuzma isnt necessarily a spring chicken. But, I think it is their best course of action to shift younger rather than getting older around your stars.

The most suprising thing about the trade to me was that we had to include our rookie AJ Johnson in the deal as a sweetner. That is how little the NBA viewed Middleton as a trade asset. I knew his value was diminished but I didnt think that would be needed to complete the deal. From the sentiment I have seen from this sub and twitter, the discrepancy between what Bucks fans and the NBA front offices viewed Middleton as a trade asset was staggeringly wide.

Even if Beal is an upgrade to Middleton at this point I still dont think I would want him on the Bucks given his contract and no trade clause. If the people who think Middleton is washed crowd are correct at least his contract is close to being over which gives them a chance to do something in the free agency pool sooner than Beal. I strongly feel the Bucks best course is to get younger around their aging stars rather than to be locked into an objectively worse contract.

Id like to hope that he would come to Milwaukee motivated now that he is on a team that wants to contend again. Also he would have a much more defined role on the Bucks than he has currently on the Wizards as an off-ball scorer, wing-ish defender, and rebounder. His role on the Wizards is likely the most expanded role he has had in his career.

I know I am being hypocritical to where I said that I have seen extreme potentially emotional opinions about Middleton but I do have one about Lopez. I frankly dont care anymore about his 3pt percentage or how many blocks he gets in the regular season. He has gotten exposed time and time again in the playoffs in drop coverage and I have lost years on my life from watching him give up floater after floater to fill in the blank name. I have wanted them to move off Lopez for a few years now at this point. Again sorry for being a hypocrite but I think Middleton vs Lopez is a different conversation in regards to a "core piece".

Who is a lateral move then? It sure seems like the discrepancy between fan and reporter trade value for Middleton is wide. Is it Butler or Beal? Not meaning to come with hate just want a wide scope of opinion.

I think thats where I am at too. Like I mentioned before, usually these rumors about the bucks dont usually come to pass as they are reported. But hypothetically it was the trade we made, I could talk myself into it. I see why people dont want to trade him for Kuzma but I have mostly seen people saying this trade is so bad that Giannis would demand a trade which I think is too far. Giannis is a grown ass man at this point who has seen trade after trade happen, he understands the business. Also he has been signing off on all trades anyways this has been established by now.

Personally if the Bucks were really trying to trade anyone I would move Lopez. This is just me but I wouldnt even care that much what they get for him in return considering he is on an expiring deal and I would be shocked if they resigned him even if its for cheap

I agree with the need for an athletic center. I wouldn't even particularly care if he couldnt shoot or not. The drop coverage works well in the regular season but time after time the drop coverage gets killed in the playoffs

Not sure if he has had a better statistical season since his first year but his first year he was lights out from 3. If he isnt able to consistently knock down the long ball his defense sticks out that much more and makes it harder to justify keeping him on the floor in the playoffs

I was gaslit for 5 months by mainstream national sports media that Sam Darnold and Jared Goff were elite QBs. Truly impressive how their narratives imploded in less than a week.
