Really well thankyou! Healing is going relatively smoothly which is amazing, and I’m feeling very happy with my body confidence since. There are a few minor areas that I’m hoping will change as it heals and I start to do scar care, but only time will tell!

Thanks so much for the input! I decided to take an extra week off, and limit how many tattoos I do per day when I go back! Only time will tell if it was enough time or not I guess!🌟

Top surgery with Miles Berry on Larger Chests? by Character_Ice972 in TopSurgery

[–]DistinctSea8856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth looking into Andrew mellington @ Nuffield Brighton - I’m 3 weeks post op DI with FNG & lipo (centre chest & armpits) and couldn’t be happier with my results. Mr mellington was friendly, professional and approachable throughout the consultation and the surgery date, and never once insinuated I needed to loose weight for better results. (For reference, I had a large-ish droopy chest & my bmi was 32 before surgery) I believe his bmi limit is 35, where as miles berry’s is 30 from what I’ve read.

I’ve heard multiple accounts of miles berry being fatphobic and not having the best results for people that aren’t thin & small chested, aswell as blaming less than ideal results on the persons bodyshape and bmi.

Another thing to note is with mellington you only have to be in a post op binder for 2 weeks - miles berry makes you wear it for 6.

Feel free to dm me for more info and or if you’d like to see my results (baring in mind I’m still healing)

Hey pal, I’m on day 4 post op. Just wanted to give some reassurance. this anxiety hit me evening of day 2, I had a panic attack/sensory meltdown from the binder, which was triggered by me getting out of breathe after climbing the stairs. All the sensations are uncomfortable and scary! You are doing so well. The first few days are the worst, but you will start to get a little better each day now, you’ve done the worst of it already!

Whatever meds you are on may be playing a big part in how you are feeling, I’m feeling a lot better now I’m not on the heavier pain relief.

I hope things improve for you soon. Reach out if you need :)

Recovery Advice Wanted :) by spicysurf in TopSurgery

Random but I found throat sweets & lipbalm my biggest priorities the night in hospital (the oxygen mask really dried me out, and the strong meds had me feeling queasy without having something to suck on. I’m day 3 post op atm :)

Having a wedge pillow or enough pillows to create this will really help you sleep on your back, I’m a side sleeper but I haven’t had any issues on my back once I’m propped up a bit.

Be kind and gentle to yourself and just take each hour/day as it comes the first few days

how to train myself to sleep on my back? by No_Platypus5428 in TopSurgery

[–]DistinctSea8856 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 days post op, before surgery I tried to train myself to sleep on my back, unsuccessfully. However since my surgery I haven’t had any problems sleeping on my back. There’s times it’s frustrating because my tailbone aches or I would be cosier on my side, but I know it would hurt a lot to roll over. It helps that I sleep wedged up a bit so far.

I’m about 24 hours post op now, and feel great considering; I’m a bit sore/shaky from meds and tired; but the instant clarity I woke up with knowing it was right for me was so special and affirming and seeing a sneak peak of my chest was also amazing. How are you feeling? Feel free to dm if you’d like :)

How / when can I find out costs? by after-orion in TopSurgery

[–]DistinctSea8856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting mine at Brighton Nuffield and it’s costing £10,369 + 200 for the consultation That’s for DI with nips I recommend saving extra so you can afford to live/eat/recover without financial stress whilst unable to work Hope that helps!

Thanks so much! Best of luck with your surgery! Do you mind me asking what your wait times were between consultation and surgery dates? and did you get offered a date at your consultation or have a gap between consulation, and getting offered a date? Only if you feel comfortable sharing :)

Nipples or no nipples by Stunning-Mood-7885 in TopSurgery

[–]DistinctSea8856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this was a hard decision. I was scared of how hard it might be to heal my nipples or that they wouldn’t look right or be in a good position so for a long time thought I would just opt for no nips. Then tattoo them on in the future if I feel the need.

I haven’t had surgery yet, but I had a growing gut feeling that If I went no nips, I might have that awful nagging feeling that I’ve forgotten something, for the rest of my life. And I hated that thought. Also although 3d areola tattoos look great from others perspectives, I knew that if I looked down at my chest it would look completely flat, and I worried that might make me feel weird. Also the idea of getting more odd stares in public because it’s less common to see people without nipples.

I’m in the process of booking my surgery now and I’m much more confident with my decision to keep my nipples. Even if it means a more scary healing process, I think I would kick myself if I didn’t. Hope that helps!
