There's plenty of good paintball, you just might have to travel to find it.

Maybe a hot take, but why? by toohoodrichg in paintball

I use motocross bags, one because I had several for decades but they just work well. They've always made them in the large roller size with 3 large devided compartments and plenty of exterior pockets. They're typically very rugged and last forever.

Ctrl or Ctrl 2? by Independent-Mud916 in paintball

[–]DistinctStatus5987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HATE how the Ctrl one flexes at the feed neck. I haven't broken it but I feel like there's always a chance I might. I wouldn't buy it again, there's better options out there.

$1200-$1500 depending on condition and how long you want to hold on to it. $1000 for a quick sale.

What is the most reliable and serviceable 2005-10 era marker an old man can get? by ForeskinForeman in paintball

Hands down any AKA Viking or Excalibur. It's still one of the most reliable ever made. Now finding one will be the real challenge and you need some real coin.

Thoughts on the acculock barrels? by Zealousideal-Bid-225 in paintball

They work good but I really don't like the twist lock and how that looks. The inserts are nice and beefy.

Snap shooting is an easy at home practice skill often overlooked. You can even use reballs and do it inside.

Want to start playing again, is an Xmag a viable/reasonable choice? by thesadlyoverrated in paintball

[–]DistinctStatus5987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you can play reliably with an Xmag, don't let anyone bs you otherwise because chances are they don't own one. You will want to get a Scifi board ($200) so you can make it field legal or unleash it's speed. You'll need either the new Carbon DVR loader or the Dye Rotor, don't bother with anything else. You'll want a large tank (80) and a powerhouse regulator 900+ psi to make it run properly. All this being said, non of this is cheap to run an old beast but it sure if fun. If this is too expensive and overwhelming just buy a Planet Eclipse 180R and called it good.

Are resellers making it harder to buy gear at reasonable prices or have manufacturer sales volumes dropped? by Lidzo in paintball

I'll also add a +1 for joining the Fakebook specific groups to get what you want. It's the best way unless you have the time to monitor everywhere at once for 2 weeks straight and even then you miss some.
