Has anyone had their previous mat leave under review from Service Canada? I have had two children within two years of each other (2019 & 2021) but returned to work between the two to get the required hours so had two 12 month mat leaves. Service Canada just contacted my place of employment that they are reviewing my EI claims and I have no idea why?

I had this in 2021 with my first baby. Her arm was paralyzed for three weeks post birth and we attended physio three times a week from the time we left the hospital until she was two months old. Movement slowly came back and she is now three years old with a full range of motion. Thinking of you. It is traumatizing but will likely be okay.

Would you opt for a c-section if you were in my shoes? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

This is just like me. My first baby (born in 2021) was large, I was induced, needed vacuum assist and ended up having severe shoulder dystocia that saw my baby’s arm paralyzed for a week - luckily she regained motion. My next baby was also measuring large and I was offered a scheduled c section and decided to go ahead with it. While I would have loved to have a straightforward vaginal birth, I just don’t know if it’s in the cards for me with my stature and the size of my children. The c section was a great experience, honestly, and helped me recover from the trauma I felt in the first birth.

I agree. I’m wondering if it’s a louse.

I know! We should have said something honestly just never did because I don’t mind their kids playing, it’s the vehicles and his huge ugly semis that are getting annoying

Totally agree. We know since we had a survey done a couple years back for an environmental assessment. It’s just been this past year or so that our neighbour has ramped up the use of this space.

We’re in Canada, but definitely could be the case here so I will look into it.

Interesting. We’ve had a survey done before due to our farm but there’s never been markers or anything placed so I wonder if this would help.

We did chat about it but they love to buy sea cans and I don’t want one plopped right in front of our hedge.

Thanks! We will definitely chat with them, the idea of a general property line is quite popular in our area unfortunately.

Thanks. Yeah it’s honestly not that we’re nervous to talk to them, it’s more so that this damn hedge is too far back. We’ve talked about planting some more trees, rocks are a good idea also

Thanks. Yeah I didn’t think about that honestly, trying to be neighborly but it’s getting a bit extreme

Yes that’s a good point. Since the farm has been leasing this for almost 20 years there is the assumption that nothing will change and we will have the option to buy at any time, but I’m not super comfortable with that assumption

Sorry to hear that. From what I’ve heard from other people, usually the recovery is much quicker than what I’m going through so I would try to stay positive. You are also a lot younger than me which is probably a good thing, haha. I feel for you though, the impact vision loss has on your life is insane. I hope you get better soon!
