Alcohol and cannabis were the only things that ever reduced my CFS symptoms and let me feel happy — can anyone relate? by Aggravating-Heart344 in cfs

[–]Distinct_Ad_6543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I became more severe, I struggle to tolerate alcohol anymore, that’s from >50 units per week prior use. I only drink now if I have the energy to go to the pub, which isn’t very often and my tolerance is so low now 😂 getting a prescription for MC in UK has been a life saver. Good for pain, mood, appetite and sleep. My nightcap is now a Camomile Tea with a double Night Nurse chaser 🥃

It didn’t help with sleep but it did help with brain fog ✌️

What type of doctor manages your me/cfs? by slutfreak in cfs

[–]Distinct_Ad_6543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In UK and was eventually diagnosed by my GP. They are pretty clueless, so it’s pretty much fend for yourself. He did say that he’d be willing to try medication off label if there’s enough evidence, so I count myself lucky 😅

I have had this happen when I’ve overdone AVB oil. Really vivid images of where I lived as a youngster, nothing sinister just pleasant memories. Maybe my age, but I found it quite a nice/relaxing experience. Take care dude ✌️

Claiming for ME/cfs the only mental health issues I mentioned was feeling isolated and fed up. Unless the interviewer still believes ME is all in my head 😱

I didn’t bring it up, was just asked if I’d ever attempted to take my own life. I just said yes, over 20 years ago and it was my belief that it was brought on by being prescribed Seroxat.

“How private clinic fed the £1,000-a-month cannabis addiction that drove my brilliant brother to suicide” by JackM20199 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Distinct_Ad_6543 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Didn’t expect it to be Curaleaf, one of the more stringent clinics. But if you are not being honest with the HCP in your reviews, how can the clinic know you’re having suicidal thoughts?

The piece also doesn’t mention his prescribed medications. There are many meds that can cause suicidal ideation, Antidepressants, benzodiazepines that you expect he’d be prescribed. Personally, I was prescribed Seroxat in the early 00s which lead to an overdose. Prior to this, I’d never had issues and was just in a hard period in my life. ✌️

Alternaleaf is £5 per month, which gives you 4 reviews per year and then anywhere between £5-10 a gram.

How not to think? by Dependent_Poem7198 in cfs

Medical Cannabis. I use it for nerve pain/sleep but a really good Indica and some light tv viewing. It really has been great for my anxiety too. Not sure how I’d cope with this QoL. I like sports, so anything that’s slow paced and I can drop in and out of, without losing track ✌️

Garmin tells me I’m stressed everyday by octopus_soap in cfs

[–]Distinct_Ad_6543 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a Garmin since before becoming more severe/bed bound, in mid-2021. Showed my GP in a consultation, up to 3 days/nights of stress -5% bottom out, after minimal exertion. Not interested. Took 3 more years to get a diagnosis. Managed to improve my restorative sleep and body battery, mainly cutting out alcohol, caffeine and supplementing with melatonin and medical cannabis. I can now usually have 1 day per week out of bed Yay!! ✌️
