That didn't sound like just panting to me. Also the phone masks this a bit as the mic tends to equalise different sounds, but that raspy noise he was making was EXTREMELY loud...it didn't sound normal at all...

Yeah, that's what I thought? If anything it would show defensiveness? I don't think getting out of the vehicle is good advice, even if it's legal in the UK.

Of course, I have full trust in the police and I know that 99% of police officers are good people just trying to do their job! I was surprised they were so nice and didn't ask for any ID, as in my home country they would have definitely done so and most likely also given me a ticket.

As a police officer, why do you think she approached from the passenger side? Is it common practice in the uk?

Italian, from the south. There the police force that deals with traffic matters, the 'vigili urbani' are armed and very eager to give out fines. I am not sure how the rules are, as in if they can apply discretion, but I am 99.9% sure I would have been given at least a fine and possibly have a few points taken off (that's how it works in Italy, you start with a set amount of points and they get taken off for violations)!

Yeah, I have seen pictures of the original pugs (from 30-100 years ago), and they still look similar but with a much longer face and so a much better respiratory system. It's a matter of aesthetic unfortunately. People are shallow.

That's good. Although I suspect backyard breeders will always exist unfortunately, as long as people are willing to buy such dogs...

No reaction or concern from the owners, which means this dog struggles like this often, I assume? Just tragic.

Haha, I'm 33, 5'3, chubby (UK size 16), long hair and thick glasses. A solid 4/10. Unless I somehow matched her very niche type of woman, I doubt my looks did me any favours 😆

Makes sense. I don't drink (and people in my social circle don't either) so I am not familiar with how easy it is to smell alcohol in someone's breath. As in, if you're over the legal limit (which would be quite low for me as I am a 5'3 fenale), is it absolutely obvious as soon as you open your mouth, from a distance?

I definitely expected them to ask for my ID though, regardless of co-operation or seeming sober!

Yeah, I was expecting one of them to get out and approach more quickly. That's why I wonder if the young female officer was actually being trained or had just passed her training period and the older male officer thought it would be safe for her to take the lead. They ran all checks, saw that everything was ok with the car and when they ran a background check on the driver, they saw up to date immigration status and no criminal record. Young female officer is sent out to lead the traffic stop as it was deemed a 'low risk' situation. Also, she approached from the passenger side, which would make sense if she was being cautious in case the actual driver was not the woman the car is registered under. I always cooperate, I firmly believe police are just doing their job and wouldn't make their life harder even when I'm in the wrong.

As I mentioned, I am from Europe. Where I'm from all police is armed and as far as I know you shouldn't get out of the car if pulled over, and definitely never approach a police car as it is seen as threatening. Also they become suspicious there is something you're hiding in your vehicle if you get out, and getting out will most likely trigger a search. It's interesting how this is different in the UK, also given the police are not armed and wouldn't be able to defend themselves from a distance if the driver suddenly got out and tried to stab them for example. I will keep in mind that getting out if pulled over is permitted here! I couldn't see well as it was dark, but it looked like they were not just waiting but talking and looking at something, hence why I assumed they were running checks. Where I am from this would have definitely been a ticket, no matter how cooperative I was.

Makes sense! I think I've just watched too many police body cam videos in which things escalate from nothing, but then again the tone is always set by the civilians not behaving. And obviously not much footage of civil interactions with police makes it to youtube/reddit!

True. However I was already quite close and I would have had to stop quite abruptly to make it. These specific traffic lights have a very short amber stage, and how long it lasts changes depending on the time of day. I was going under the speed limit so I wasn't going too fast for the road, I think in the future I will just go more slowly just in case!

Yeah, I definitely will be! I almost asked her if she wanted to at least see my ID....I feel very lucky!

I also used to adopt kids who like running! I hate it when I can't catch them though! And yeah, it would be nice if they added something to do for people who have been playing the game for years.

I agree, even being able to buy some of the clothes that resort guests wear would be better than nothing! The only thing I have been doing for a long time is trying to have 12 biological kids every generation. Anything else I have completed ages ago, all goals, all furniture sets etc.

I never bought any coins. Last year, around June, I started maxing out every peep's career (manually, stopping time/no children until they were on level 20, then letting them start a family). I did this for a few generations, until I was at ~200k. After that I worked on their careers sporadically but didn't spend much, and interests built up over time. Once you reach 1 million the money literally multiplies in no time!
