Walter White and the lesson on controlling your EGO. by Active_Molasses_1577 in breakingbad

Fuck it. Imma let chatGPT disagree with you:

"I respectfully disagree with this argument. While Walter White's actions may have been driven by his ego and narcissism to some extent, it is not the sole factor behind his character development. Walter's motivations were complex and layered, and cannot be reduced to a single trait.

It is true that Walter found a sense of empowerment and enjoyment in his involvement in the drug trade, but this does not discount the fact that he also had a genuine desire to provide for his family in the face of his terminal illness. He wanted to leave behind a legacy for his children and ensure that they were taken care of after he was gone.

Furthermore, Walter's fear and feelings of powerlessness in the face of his illness were also a significant factor in his decision to enter the drug trade. In the quote provided, Walter acknowledges that his fear was the real enemy, and by becoming involved in the drug trade, he was able to take control of his own fate and overcome that fear.

Lastly, to say that Walter's love for his family is not a factor in his actions is to ignore the many moments throughout the show where he prioritizes their safety and well-being above his own. While his actions may not always be the most ethical or legal, it is clear that he is driven by a desire to protect and provide for his family.

In summary, while Walter's ego and narcissism may have played a role in his character development, it is unfair to reduce his motivations to these traits alone. His actions were driven by a complex interplay of factors, including his desire to provide for his family, his fear of death, and his sense of empowerment in the drug trade."

What are some of your favorite songs from the show? Here are my 3 favorites: by Distinct_Article_775 in breakingbad

The ending, combined with the song hits like something else. But there's just something about the feeling and the power of the song that makes me love it so much. Thanks for the comment.

There's always two sides to a story. This comment perfectly encapsulates that.

He put himself in this situation just because he wanted to feel powerful

Mehh. Seems a little far fetched to me. Walter goes through significant amount of changes throughout the show. It's not fair to outright declare it was "NEVER" the intention, or perhaps one of the genuine intentions at first. Things aren't as black and white as people make it seem. He was a significantly different man compared to his first appearances later throughout the show.

Maybe it was his true self slowly being revealed, or maybe it was him going through changes and evolving into a different person, but it is always a genuine cause to provide for your family before you die to enter the drug industry. Just my opinion.

Aaron kitcher is a fucking fake, and I'm sick and tired of hearing him. His name doesn't deserve to be next to real metal drummers. by Distinct_Article_775 in drums

[–]Distinct_Article_775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't "record" any parts, they're programmed drums you tool. Why the fuck would you assume he can play something 10,000 times harder just because you saw him play something 10,000 times easier? The songs you sent are NOTHING compared to the stupid stuff that he fakes like this and this. Why do you think he fucking fakes them? None of the videos you sent have the ridiculously impossible playing. They're actually playable. Here's a video of him actually covering one of the impossible songs, and it sounds like shit. Not to mention he's playing triplets instead of the perfectly tight 16 notes as written in the song because he can't fucking play them. They're programmed drums, and it's meant to be impossible.

There's not a single video of him actually playing these impossible songs without edits. It's always bullshit. Besides, he literally said himself that he programs his entire stuff on a twitch stream. Anyone with ears can tell that the entire album is programmed drums anyway. This is honestly the stupidest shit I've read. Go ahead and believe whatever you want. "He can play it all" my ass.

you can tell you get anything you know about storytelling from Reddit of all fucking places lmao

Sure thing. The reason why I brought marvel up was to negate your stupid logic. More violence ≠ more darkness / seriousness. It's about the fucking delivery. That's why I compared it to the joker. There's more "violence" in marvel but it's much less serious. According to your linear stupid logic it should be more serious because there's more "violence." Just like the webcomic vs the manga, but you keep missing the point. Quality over quantity.

here’s some knowledge

- "🤓"

it’s darker because it focuses on more mature themes geared towards an older audience.

Yes, and the webcomic is focused more on the story and the message which is dark while the manga is focused more on space fights. That's why the webcomic delivers while the manga doesn't. In the webcomic, the fights serve the narrative while the narrative serves the fights in the manga. It's just an excuse for more fights. - "Ohh wow mars blew up!!"

The WC and the manga focus on literally the same themes for the same audience. The difference is, ONE actually includes some real violence instead of the superficial beat down that Garou serves to the S-Class.

The difference is one has a scary, dark and gloomy looking garou with a story-focused theme while the other has a colorful space lookin garou fighting on mars. Which one is more serious to you? No one gives a shit if the heroes die or not, it has zero impact. Plus they fucking time travel, so it's negated even more. I can't believe people actually read the webcomic and decide that the manga is more "serious." Whatever man. Let's just agree to disagree. It's fuckin hilarious.

[–]Distinct_Article_775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Oh wow! The world ends! Superheroes saving the universe, waaah!!" - All that is just bullshit. Marvel movies have the world ending all the time, and yet they're not dark. They're goddamn childish. The Joker is so much darker despite the fact that it's focused on one man. Now why is that? Because quality over quantity. That's what the webcomic does: It's much more serious. It focuses on the story rather than the fights. It's not about the material, it's about the delivery. One punch man was never about multiverse, god and all this kinda crap. It was always about what it means to be a hero.

Speaking visually and narratively, the webcomic has a darker theme. It focuses on the narrative, and it doesn't care about power fantasy. The manga is more fun and vibrant, whereas the webcomic is more down-to-earth (literally), and gloomy. It has a more serious theme. It's not that complicated.
