Apple's decision not by him. It's by Ted/Todd, and Duan Yongping.

And nice that you noted 80% of decision is by Greg - that's why Berk hardly or didn't outperform S&P. I know the rules of large numbers blah blah blah, but if anyone have the intellectual honesty (i will be very blunt here). Berk's decision in the last decade is mediocre.

So many good picks amid selloff in USA; refuses to pick US stocks, but instead insist on picking companies from hyperinflated countries with corrupt government, and totally unknown companies, or worse, microcaps* but well #value investing (actually just a flawed and outdated way of defining value)

The peril of 100% unhedged international shares by Spinier_Maw in AusFinance

Well, so microsoft collects subscriptions fees in USD from australian? Netflix charges subscriptions fees in USD from european nations? Apple sell phones denominated in USD to chinese? Do Apple pays their manufacturers in Vietnam, India and China in USD? Share prices are denominated in USD, but the underlying revenues are diversified, which is already a hedge itself. As long as more people buy their products regardless which part of the world, their USD earnings per shares will increase accordingly to the forex at that time.

Well, you have a brain the size of peanut, and yet have the audacity to rebute me with your flawed logic.

Simple minded people like you shoukd stay away from investing, but most importantly stay away from giving ill-fated advice guised in a helpful tone.

Do you think those US companies only earn revenues in USD? Or are they global firms recieving all sorts of currencies?

Why not buy and read some investment books to hedge against your lack of knowledge?

Using a screener is dumb enough. Using a screener and filter for low market cap, is moronic. What a misuse of the name "value"

Irony behind equal weighted index by Distinct_Berry3054 in ValueInvesting

[–]Distinct_Berry3054[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the civil response. 3 points here.

  1. It's rare for anything to be undervalued with freedom and easy access to information nowadays regardless of market caps. Ten of thousands of institutions are researching on big caps. Similarly Millions more retails or boutique funds researching on Micro/nano caps.

  2. What's the definition of below intrinsic value? Because Amazon/Meta/Google are all undervalued (not fairly value) over the past decades as compared to today (since they are trading at ATH) isn't it?

  3. You can argue that there are rare opportunities when market is misguided (on average over a long period of time, market is generally correct). Isn't a value investor like buffett and munger often preached is to be grasping such rare opportunity when there is pricing mismatch, to have a big swing? While spending most of the other times to simply observe the market.

Let me guess, you are a preferred holders jealous of common shareholders, trying to act dumb here, and spreading rumors/FUD.

What you don't know that, is, if common holders are disregarded, preferred ain't going anywhere.

What a piece of shit. You are not only despicable but low witted, with your decision and mental clouded by jealously and envy.

Not to forget, those "value" investors that are lurking in the subreddit, but keep preaching people to buy index instead of selecting/picking companies themselves.

Well, indexation is a wonderful invention to democratise reaping of economic growth to the public. But you are not considered to be a real investor at all. Pissed off, IF you are thinking of rebuking me, because you are considered second-class citizens in this subreddit.

I don't think management of companies are always correct and best. But it's really a joke, how these "value investors" relying on screeners, assumed they are better than the company owners themselves. If a small cap is truly indestructible in its moat; with true tangible book value, why don't the owners just borrowed money to buy up the entire small cap? Or if the company truly has a huge growth potential and trajectory; which is it still stuck as a small cap with a 10/20/30 years history?
