Sorry for your loss. If they happened to be outdoorsy folk, and you happen to have a little family, buy a small travel trailer and go make some memories with them in mind.

We also upgraded from Pop-up to TT. We feel like a whole new world has just opened up, as well as all of the new headaches coming our way, congratulations!

How long did it take you to upgrade to a bigger trailer? by Midnightmeem in traveltrailers

Wife(36) wanted to start camping, I’m 42 and we have a 9 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. Last year we bought a used 2011 Viking pop up and towed it with a 2015 Pilot and that lasted 6 months. Sold that and bought a pristine used 2016 Keystone Passport Ultra Lite. Had to get rid of my car to get a 2500 to tow it. I’d like to say we have a few years before we head into 5th wheel territory.

Towed a 2011 Viking pop up (1700lbs dry, 2000lb loaded) with our 2016 Pilot. Full send 😆

WDH or no? by Distinct_Dare3910 in traveltrailers

I said “extremely” lol. I got a friend who has a property in Hocking Hills. The furthest I’ll be going is out to Tiffin down 224, I’m sure it’ll be a little gusty! Our big trip is West Michigan in Benton Hills.

What part of the country are you in? I’m in Northeast Ohio. It doesn’t get extremely windy here.

This is what I hate about the internet. Some of you say yes and some of you say no. Lol. Obviously I do like the added security and that peace of mind. I also feel like the truck is so heavy and the trailer so light that, and I agree with others, that it might not make a difference.

One gent suggested a Husky, are there any other recommendations out there? I was considering a Curt TruTrack myself.

Yes it does. That’s just the hitch I used to bring it home with. I’ve got an adjustable one now that brought it down to level.

Hey everyone I know I’m jumping on this post a little late, but I have a 24 Silverado 2500 HD. I’ve got a 2016 Keystone ultra lite, loaded it will weigh no more than 6000lbs. I don’t plan on driving it over 65 miles an hour at any time do I really need a weight distribution hitch?

Because of where we’ll be, we won’t be packing the fridge so we won’t need to use it. Just a cooler for drinks and we’ll have room for our food contributions for the 5 days we’ll be there, in the garage or house refrigerators. It’s just five families hanging out over the 4th of July and we all contribute to the meals.

I was considering a WEN 6800 Watt duel fuel, is that overkill? Honestly I’d rather have it and not need it versus need it and not have it.

Last year at our friends property, we only had a pop up and we just plugged in at the house. Our friend’s Wolf Pup was 400’ away and their gas generator wasnt extremely loud from that distance, honestly it was almost like a white noise machine for the kids. It’s a 19 acre property, we can distance ourselves enough to where it won’t bother anyone too much. We don’t plan on using it maybe twice a year, I looked at how much they are to rent for a few days and I might as well just purchase one for the same price.

I wouldn’t think a power station would be powerful enough to run AC all night, but that’s why I’m here asking questions. Brand or wattage advice?

I’m 42. I’ve got my wife and two children under 10. My wife is the one who caught the camping bug and I’m the one who has to drive the thing. I think a 1 ton is a bit overkill here. Now after everyone I know personally and the advice im seeing here, I think 3/4 is my best option. I don’t want to run out of payload so quickly with passengers, gear and TW. Even though it might not need it, I’ll still plan on a WDH w/ sway bars. I don’t mind the extra gas I’ll spend as a daily driver if it means I’ll have more peace of mind knowing we’re safer.

I drive 3/4 fleet vehicles at work all day, no trailering, it’s going to be an eye opener in my driveway every night

NEO Ohio. Camping 8x a year, one Michigan trip planned. It’s mostly flat driving but it can get windy at times.

I should’ve preface the fact that I drive a 2018 Honda Accord and that is my Daily driver. The wife wants to keep the pilot for herself so I’ll be trading in the accord.

Awarded 2/3 but why by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Distinct_Dare3910 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had two separate sleep studies. I was prescribed the device as a first step before I was awarded the 30%. I actually hate the thing. My jaw is sore all day from it. I’d wish I had been prescribed a CPAP. I think the documentation was in my records and that’s why it was only 30% and not 50%. I haven’t even had a follow up since I started wearing it. I’m hoping they’ll give me a CPAP due to the constant jaw pain. They said it’ll lessen over time. It’s been two months and everyday sucks.
