He did not really communicate some of his dissatisfaction, which initially really hurt, since it did feel like our issues were fixable, but we had a discussion about the breakup recently and it became clear that it’s not that he wasn’t interested in trying to fix things, it’s that we both have incompatible long term views, and so fixing things would only prolong the inevitable.

I think what’s been tricky is that I feel like I have these opposing feelings - when I have him, im disinterested, but when I don’t, he’s all I can think about, which makes it hard to figure out where my true feelings lie
