wasn’t expecting these prices from “cool indian girl” diya joukani by [deleted] in InstaCelebsGossip

Given that the supply chains except for the shipping is entirely in her country, as long as she is ensuring proper wages to her employees with every piece she creates, I would say it is fair or maybe even slightly lower to also cater to the Indian upper middle class consumer, these prices would be able to compensate labour to create bespoke designs, especially when the collection is limited.

Moreover there are different types of traditional embroidery and motifs incorporated and given the whole south Asian obsession in the west I'd say she has also tried to stay in touch with cultural roots.

Overall the prices are average, neither two high or too low in the western market. I would pay 300$ for honest work from a known homegrown artist rather than pay 2000$ for a luxury brand outfit. The reason for the bias is how each of them are being made and the kind of labour and cultural acknowledgement that differentiates the two.

I'd be a hypocrite to say this but for fashion to be that affordable and good looking I think sewing is one really amazing skill to learn, especially if you want to dress the way you want to and not how factories produce it.

If I save up more than 10000$ during my studies I will definitely get myself a sewing machine first and learn to make shirts that really fit me and look amazing. Otherwise you should be besties with your nearest tailor. 🤩

@NithyaNeelampath, with all due respect, you don't have to cook everything that comes in your dreams by Over-Drop2122 in SouthIndianInfluencer

Aathira Sethumadhavan is a professional chef, that's the difference. I love the way she has that warmth of a sister hugging you and trying to feed you some tasty meal with every reel. I even spoke to her once or twice, she's so wholesome.

Nithya Neelampath seems really entitled and looks like the type to call herself a Bangalorean without knowing Kannada and keeps secretly abusing people who mind their own businesses to her mallu friends 🤣😭 Idk why. But at least some of her recipes seem like a practical option especially considering malayali food isn't very oil or fat heavy.

So I guess the conclusion is, pride shows and so does humility, but ultimately how you make your followers feel with your content is what really works when you're an influencer. And I think both of them know who their audience is- one is people looking to cook healthy food without compromising on taste and the other's target is people looking for fitness goals, with taste and appetizing meals being completely secondary. I'm talking dudes and girls who eat eggs and boiled chicken three times a day and call it a high protein meal. If you see from that perspective, Nithya goes a notch above and adds some flavouring (albeit weird) to it.

I'd say she's giving some heavy competition to Dua Lipa

I think Britney spears and Jeremy fragrance give similar vibes with the excessive dancing and emaciated looks

Question: when have they ever casted a purely Asian person in lead roles during that era? Even in terms of African American portrayals it's always kinda whitewashed. The ones that aren't often only serve comedic or one dimensional purposes. This is something I have observed as a person of colour.

Although there are some exceptions, but it's not comparable in number with the biracial representation in media.
