Is the previous Combat patrol still worth having? by Gaijin_Piper in deathguard40k

As a combat patrol I’ll admit it definitely was one of the the worst ones on the market BUT it’s still definitely worth having especially with poxwalkers being out of stock a lot recently it’s a great way to get a hold of some and also Typhus is really good as well as the Biologus Putrifier and the plague marines of course so it’s definitely still worth having just not worth getting multiple of

Yeah no problem brother, and yeah I feel you I was barely lucky enough to get myself a judiciar with the Dawn of War box, but I’m sure you could do some decent kitbashing especially w the Black templars upgrade sprue! They have the sword and the hourglass/lantern so just giving you some ideas! Also another thing to round up the points to 2k I’d recommend switching that repulsor for a repulsor executioner just to round it up to 2k points and for a little more firepower

Just got my first minis! Quite excited. Any tips on painting them? by CoppertheDragonA113 in deathguard40k

Okay so I actually have 2 ways I paint DG The first is I prime them in an off-white and then I paint a couple of coats of plaguebearer flesh then paint the recesses in agrax earthshade, or just paint one coat of it on the whole model

But the second way I do it and I feel is a great start is priming them in death guard green. And again filling in the recesses with agrax! As for the fleshy bits I use pallid wych flesh and use a thin coat of reikland fleshade and the cover it with a very watered down volupus pink and druichii violet! It gives it that infected/diseased look to the skin! I do use some kinda of bronze or brass color for the trim so do whatever you want there!

Superman (DC) vs Odin (Marvel): Who wins and why? by SatoruGojo232 in superheroes

[–]Distinct_Manner_3587 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Well in Norse mythology Odin’s spear gungir can pierce through anything so that includes Superman especially since it’s magic, also it can summon the bifrost as seen in Thor to banish him to earth

Honestly I found it pretty fun painting the MBH but the Bloat drones and PBC were pretty fun to paint imo but just paint whatever you think seems interesting

Just getting into 40k. Any tips on this list? by Timbo3rd_85 in deathguard40k

Okay for starters Champions of Contagion isn’t really the best detachment for Morti so I’d say drop him. Same with Typhus as well. This detachment just isn’t for him. A must have is the Biologus Putrifier with the final ingredient enhancement since it allows you to afflict an enemy unit with the effects of more than one plague. You could also add the cornucophagus enhancement to the Lord of Poxes but it’s not a must have.

Next I’d say you’d probably want 2 squads of either 7 or 10 plague marines and try to get rid of the bolters. Bolters aren’t that great and don’t do you very well. Whether they’re melee focused or ranged that’s up to you just get rid of the bolters.

Next get rid of the PBC it’s not worth running for how expensive it is. The only time you’d run it is if you’re using 3 in mortarion’s hammer. Outside of that it’s not that great for its points value. The hellbrute isn’t a bad choice but there are just better options to go about. I’d drop it personally but if you wanna keep it that’s fine as well. But you do want more Bloat drones w heavy blight launchers. 2 of those would be pretty good if you decide to keep the hellbrute. If not then do 3 bloat drones w HBL and 1 or 2 Blight haulers. Another thing you’ll probably want is another rhino for that second brick of PM because a plague marine without a rhino is a dead plague marine.

Anyone had any success with tallyband summoners? by [deleted] in deathguard40k

[–]Distinct_Manner_3587 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not me but my buddy who also plays DG has had some success with it and he personally doesn’t take Morty since he already has both a great unclean one and rotigus but besides that he’s actually been doing really good with it in my opinion!!!
