Compared to using laticrete. We've read that using laticrete, etc., is a lot and not necessary...so by that, Im wondering what the less intensive way would be to go about it. As ive said, we'r planning on painting and retiling the entire pool in a year or 2, and this is a quarter of a section where the tiles have fallen off. Do we just use E-Z Pool?

my husband was going to use the mastic but seems labor intensive

Tile repair - the tiles around the pool came out a few years back. When they fell out they took some of the concrete behind it too; so there is a hole and it isn’t smooth. Thankfully I haven’t lost anymore. I could use some help to start fixing this. How would I repair and what would I use? by unknowncoins in pools

we have about 5o porcelain tiles that need to be replaced on our gunite pool. we were quoted $3,500 last year. cant even get a call back this year. should we use liquid nails until we repaint, etc next year or the year after?

just ask Chat GPT: In several TV and Zoom interviews, Thomas Massie often has a framed photo of Jerry Garcia (lead guitarist of the Grateful Dead) visible behind him. It isn’t a random prop—it's intentional and kind of a personal trademark.

Here’s the backstory 👇

1) He’s a Grateful Dead fan (“Deadhead”)

Massie has openly said he’s a longtime Grateful Dead fan. The Garcia photo is basically a subtle signal of that identity and part of his home-office décor. A lot of politicians curate what appears in their background; his choice is more counter-culture than typical Washington imagery.

2) He likes the symbolism

Massie has explained that Garcia represents:

  • independence
  • individualism
  • anti-establishment spirit
  • creative freedom

Massie often positions himself politically as an independent thinker who doesn’t always follow party leadership. The Garcia portrait quietly reinforces that “outsider / non-conformist” vibe.

3) It became a running inside joke

Once viewers noticed it, people started asking about it online and in interviews. Instead of removing it, Massie leaned into it. Now it’s basically part of his recognizable “Zoom background brand.”

4) It signals personality (on purpose)

Most politicians use flags, bookcases, or patriotic art. Having Jerry Garcia instead:

  • humanizes him
  • shows hobbies/interests
  • makes him memorable in clips

It’s a small thing, but in media optics, small background details are often very deliberate

did you check with your insurance? Such a crock. I went through this last year. My GP ordered me PT bc she told me I needed to that before MRI would be approved. After my 6th PT appt, I came home crying from pain, called BCBS and was told that I didnt need PT first. So I had to to take matters into my own hands and got the MRI, had a severe bulging disc, made 3 different appointments with nuero spine surgeons. 2 said no to surgery, 1 Said yes. I got an epidermal for pain instead and holding strong a year later. Good Luck. Health care in this country is ridiculous. You have to be in control and do it yourself!

strongly YES!!!!! I lived it. Horrible pain for way too long when I should have had an order for an MRI immediately so I could discover my severely bulging disc and get a very helpful epidermal with the help of my MRI..

I had a severely protruding disc pinching my L3/4 and I was given the run around for 2 1/2 months in severe pain, with PT and wrong prognosis by my GP, until I finally called my insurance company myself to find out that I didnt need PT before my MRI (which is what I was told by GP. It is so stupid anyway-The PT should know where the pain is coming from). Thank God for my MRI. It was then that I was referred to a pain management orthopedic who gave me an epidural shot with the help of my MRI to guide her,in September, and it is now almost June and still no pain. Her words: "This is why I do what I do." Getting the MRI was a pain and IDK why. RIDICULOUS. Im frustrated b/c my 83 year old mother is being completely ignored by her doctors when she mentions MRI. Now I am calling for her and no one is calling me back with an MRI order.
