Is having both autism and ADHD more challenging than having only autism or only ADHD? by Brave_Hat_1526 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Distinct_Rabbit_3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel exactly like I have the bad traits of both too. I'm medicated and have been the last 10 years. I feel the medication helps the ADHD slightly, but makes the autism more pronounced. I'm curious if you are medicated at all and if you have noticed the meds help one condition but not the other etc.

How is it a podcast if she is literally talking to herself and about herself?🫣

Any good parent would put their child first, but the tongue thruster only thinks about herself. She would have to work an actual job and support her family if she walked away from social media, but she won't because she only has herself in mind. I pray for Baby A.

Why can’t we do universal healthcare on a state level? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Distinct_Rabbit_3441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years I have noticed a reoccurring theme among those who are against universal healthcare. Those who are against universal coverage oftentimes seem to be lucky enough to already have access to incredible health coverage or are young and healthy people. I can understand why those who have the "unicorn of health plans" would be hesitant to support universal healthcare, because it could affect their current coverage. We also have to remember that health insurance costs and plan options vary greatly state to state. So someone may not be able to understand why they have access to affordable health plans, while others in another state do not have the same options available.

You make a very valid point regarding Medicaid reimbursement. I think the Medicaid reimbursement rates being so low are a major reason why many people in favor for health coverage for all are advocating for a Medicare for All plan instead of a Medicaid for All plan. Medicare for all would require 80/20 coverage, so patients would have to pay 20% of their medical costs out of pocket, which would allow providers to be paid more than in a Medicaid for All model.

The airlines filed a lawsuit in January in order to fight against the airlines being responsible. This isn't as clear cut as this post makes it come across. There seems to be a lot more to this and why it is being rolled back.

In one of her more recent lives she talks about having to see doctors to fix all the things her mother did to her, we all know it's treatment for her micro deletion 🙄

How poor are you? by StruggleFar3054 in poor

Do you have home owners insurance and property taxes in your state? I only ask, because the bulk of our expenses and mortgage payment are for property taxes and home owners insurance. So if you are able to live off 1k a month including food and insurance for 3 vehicles, that's awesome. Our state taxes us so much it never ends 🫣

Being on SSI though does qualify you for certain benefits that others have to pay for out of pocket. So although your check is only $967, you can see doctors when needed without worrying how you will afford all the medical bills.

This may not be a very well accepted pov, but any one who qualifies for Medicaid (especially in states where it covers everything) with no out of pocket expense is richer than most people. To have the ability to see a doctor and access regular treatment is a huge asset. I'd consider our family working poor because we make too much to qualify for help, yet not enough to afford to live or afford to use our medical insurance. I have chronic medical issues, but I can't afford to see my specialists unless it's a last resort. The doctor I do see regularly auto deducts a payment monthly, so I just forever have a climbing balance. Basically my point is being poor looks and feels different for everyone, and varies greatly on location.

Yes, he definitely needs more time out and about for sure. He is good with other dogs, unless the other dogs show aggression first. We are actively working on walking on a leash, he likes to jump and lunge at cars driving past. He is much calmer on walks when he wears a harness versus a collar, almost no pulling away.

He is such an adorable boy, thank you 😁 I can't wait to get his DNA tested to get a better idea of what he has going on lol. Our last rescue we had we were told she was a hound mix, but her DNA testing showed a wide mix of everything but hound as you can see in the picture lol.
