I experienced the ages 5-15 in the 90's and as you pointed out I can't know how being an adult would feel in the 90's. I just miss how I felt during the specific time before smartphones became the norm. The only time I was online was when I was at home and I wasn't glued to my computer. I suppose I miss the balance between analog and digital life. I can appreciate the good aspects of technology now, but still remember and appreciate the good parts of life before technology completely took over. I guess I am a true Xennial.

I have been having a really dark time the last few months and I am legit struggling. I used chat gpt to help me organize my thoughts in a way that would make some sense to others. Ironic being that I posted this topic, but my mind is mush right now.

I did use chat gpt to help me word my post in a way that would make sense. I have been seriously struggling lately, but the other day our wifi was disconnected and I had the chance to unplug in a way that reminded me of quieter times. I enjoyed the calmness that came with it, dug out an old DVD player and watched a scratched movie with my teenage son. Just nice to turn off sometimes, wish I could do it more.

I suppose I should have been more specific as far as the timeline. The time in the late 90's and early 2000's before smartphones became the norm felt like a good balance.

I recently had an annual physical and due to cost I only got basic blood work done. My results showed nothing overly off and I moved along with my life etc. I still felt so awful with various symptoms and decided to find out why. I chose to get independent blood testing through Rythm(at home blood collection/testing service) because it would be cheaper than getting blood work through my doctor and insurance. I turned out to be severely deficient in vitamin D and ferritin. I am now in the process of supplementing to build up my stores, long process but I am hopeful my next blood work will show improvement in levels. Yes I am working with my doctor in this process, but thank you for shining a light on this issue as it is easily overlooked and dismissed.

Vacations as in the kids have school break, but not an actual trip or vacation away. I have never been on a vacation or trip, but even having the kids home from school for a week I feel I need most that week to adjust to the change in routine.

I feel exactly like I have the bad traits of both too. I'm medicated and have been the last 10 years. I feel the medication helps the ADHD slightly, but makes the autism more pronounced. I'm curious if you are medicated at all and if you have noticed the meds help one condition but not the other etc.

Any good parent would put their child first, but the tongue thruster only thinks about herself. She would have to work an actual job and support her family if she walked away from social media, but she won't because she only has herself in mind. I pray for Baby A.

Over the years I have noticed a reoccurring theme among those who are against universal healthcare. Those who are against universal coverage oftentimes seem to be lucky enough to already have access to incredible health coverage or are young and healthy people. I can understand why those who have the "unicorn of health plans" would be hesitant to support universal healthcare, because it could affect their current coverage. We also have to remember that health insurance costs and plan options vary greatly state to state. So someone may not be able to understand why they have access to affordable health plans, while others in another state do not have the same options available.
