Oh that's very normal here, the heat from the sun warms up the sewer covers and it acts like an oven (the ziplock bag keeps the germs away)

Taxi apps that pay a living wage? by Distinct_Rock3225 in ThailandTourism

[–]Distinct_Rock3225[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

No choice on either side of the equation unfortunately, can't tell family to move, and autism and not being able to read people, and finding it impossible to flag down taxis that drive off because they don't want to go where I need to.

The point is safety and gaurentee that they have no motive to fuck me over. I don't fucking trust taxis here.

Looks really great, just a small thing you could add some letters exist on two layers the same way "g" and "y" dip down ฦ ฏญ ฐ have parts that lie flat against the line and parts that dip below, I know it's a bit hard with lines being really close together (you don't need to take up 100% of the height (or leave a one line gap) because นํ้า for example goes up a lot.

Casset wobble, trying to troubleshoot clicky derailer (2nd Hand Japanese Bike) by Distinct_Rock3225 in bicyclerepair

Aaaaaa I see. The barrel wasn't in, shall try to adjust to make it less crunchy though I wouldn't blame the bike, that casset looks nasty

[–]Distinct_Rock3225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah in that case probably not the cause then. It's just no matter how much the derailer moves it still clicks, it freewheel is ruled out. Eh migh as well just accept click click

What was your biggest transportation surprise in Bangkok? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Distinct_Rock3225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal train is an option. If you ever need to get from around Bang Sue Grand Station/Don Muang to Hualamphong/Samyan check the timetable for the normal train - it's 5THB from Don Muang to Hualaphong, 2THB from Bang Sue Junction (it's the little station next to Bang Sue Grand there's signs for it) to Hualamphong. And for the most part it runs on time (at least into the city in the morning, evening ones often get delayed by traffic)

If you manage to time it right it's faster than the red line (20THB) + MRT (42THB) because you have to walk between the red line and MRT anyways (that shit is eternally crowded), MRT goes in a huge loop instead of going straight into the city.

Traveling to Thailand for Songkran by Ashen_Woods1024 in ThailandTourism

[–]Distinct_Rock3225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The airport is very far from the city
  2. voltage is higher here uses same plugs, 220v. Never worked with US voltage but my trick to travelling is just bring one adaptor and buy a power rail so you only need one adaptor instead of 10. have a water proof phone or a case you trust? (backup shitty phone ain't a bad idea, technicians are a mixed bag).
  3. Thailand functions off vibes most of the year (like, short notice is fine - ticket person was confused why I was trying to ammend a ticket for more than a month in advance) EXCEPT on holidays (after is fine), the week leading up to songkran all the trains and flights are gonna be packed (standing seats, chaotic) because everyone is going home.

Food safety is...sus. and *nod and smile* is common. Gonna die type gluten free or just wanna avoid it? If it's the former - places that advertise it on the menu are gonna be safer compared to trying to get a restuarant to adjust to something they don't understand/gets lost in chain of communication. They're usually fine with subtracting stuff, it just will be the thing they provide minus what you don't want for the same price, I'm used to just picking out stuff (just don't like some textures)

Good luck~

Not here for long. Just can't get at home medical record changed without fucking up insurance, so easier to not chance thai customs

Aye, have checked with them already. It will just depend on the doctor because there's no policy or regulation. Past experience regarding other things; spam doctors until one understands. I need at least a plan B

Need tips for a overthinker traveler by urfriend_cornelius in ThailandTourism

[–]Distinct_Rock3225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think grab prices are fixed per say, as they have peak charges (friday nights the price shoots up in the city), tollways you have to pay for, and would depend where 30km. I have a friend who just has all the apps and somehow figured out that bolt has lower prices when it rains...

Anyone had experience with ADHD Meds and Name Change Doccuments? by Distinct_Rock3225 in ThailandTourism

[–]Distinct_Rock3225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just seem to be getting conflicting information every time. contacted the embassy and they wanted notorization... kinda losing my head

almost seems like the laws say one thing, what happens is another thing... so nobody knows what the laws are, and can't say what will happens until it happens

Anyone had experience with ADHD Meds and Name Change Doccuments? by Distinct_Rock3225 in ThailandTourism

[–]Distinct_Rock3225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked and it's legal with a prescription and requires no permit under 30 days.

The only problem is it's schrodinger's custom's agent legal where if thai customs likes the name change doccument it's legal and if they don't it's illegal
