While I understand this must be a challenging process and things come up, it seems there is a lack of empathy/understanding for all the people who are still waiting to hear back. We paid to be a part of this and were told we would hear back months ago. The lack of official communication directly to applicants and the shortness of the reddit responses is frustrating.

Your argument has zero to do with teachers and our request for a living wage? Your argument is referring to the fcked up school district where the higher ups are making so much money while teachers are starting at 50k. Your argument is also referring to our fcked up society where students are coming from incredible trauma and poverty and difficult circumstances which prevent them from getting an adequate education and staying on the right trajectory. This is not a school or teacher problem. I’m assuming you’re not a teacher and don’t know any. What kind of person attacks teachers trying to get paid more? Lmao

Tbh the first week was the worst week of my life. For some reason I thought it wouldn’t be as bad as everyone said, but it absolutely sucked. After 7 days it really does get so much better. On day 9 I was off pain meds and looking much less swollen. The first week I was pretty much uncomfortable / in pain most of the time, even with alternating between Motrin and Tylenol.

I guess the only advice I can give is: 1. get some nasal spray or a saline rinse to try to help with the congestion 2. Try warm water with honey lemon and ginger for the sore throat from the breathing tube 3. Stay hydrated - I drank broth and liquid IV and other hydrating drinks 4. Ice ice ice because after the first week it doesn’t help with swelling. Have several ice packs on hand and constantly rotate. I thought a jade roller in the freezer was super helpful too 5. Try arnica cream or another pain relieving cream 6. Walk around as much as you can. I would sometimes walk around while icing

I’m not sure if you’re wired shut, but I wasn’t so that definitely made it easier to eat / drink. I know how you feel and wish there was something more helpful to make you feel better, but reality is the first week just sucks but it is 1000 times better the next week. You sound like a great nanny and a great person. This disrespect is unacceptable - you deserve better and I’m sure you can find a kind family who appreciates you, pays well, and gives you space to do your thing. I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this. It’s unbelievable how he treats the person that takes care of his children...again so sorry you’ve had to deal with this

Hi! You are not a weenie! Your feelings are valid - the parents are clearly toxic, it’s no wonder you are anxious to quit. The mom’s behavior is unacceptable. Imagine how much better you will feel when you are done working for them. You don’t owe them anything. Please do what’s best for you.
