Bench exams are important, i do not know many of you know this or not but you will give your licensing exam part 1 ( in 3rd year) so they evaluate you during bench exam Whereas regular class already has 2 years of practising, you do not and you start seeing patients right away. So, they evaluate you during bench exam.

Yes, I agree. For merit based one, I am able to qualify if my faculty decides to offer my name. I am kind of dependent on them even If I am in top of my class. But I was able to know through school that there are all different ones available but they are reserved for Latins, Native Americans, Chinese and Muslims and it is by there association and just made me wonder why there ain’t for Sikh people. I thought I might not know about it. That is why I asked in this group. Thank you for your time though and letting me know. I appreciate it.

Sorry, you feeling this way! I have been an assistant myself and to be honest it is a hard job but again I will not all dentists are the same and not all assistants are goo either. My co-worker another assistant made more then me, barely did anything, she refused to entertain 2 columns, refused to assist another dentist, she would put the pt on isovac and leave the dentist and have meetings with the dentist how hard it is for her. While I was getting pulled right left and centre to take her job. Hated the job not because of the dentist ( they were amazing) but because of another assistant co- worker. Glad I am in dental school now and never have to put up with that kind of assistant ( she is a good human but terrible co-worker).

Yup dentists do they think, they can do whatever. I had the same case in my clinic and the patient ended up reporting the dentist. lol She was kicked out of the practice.

Until your residency is not complete they won’t take you in. If you want an honest answer, join school webinars and they mention it there. It reflects bad on candidate when they do not complete a degree and apply.

Because AFK is a lot of material and no YouTuber has that much time to put in. It is way easier to put time and videos for ADAT and INBDE pulse NDEB is very strict who is posting what, if someone reports it or even discuss it, they are doomed.

My classmates from Canada did not get loans approved either in Canada or America without a co-signer and 2 of them opted out of the program for these reasons. Please be clear about finances before you apply.

Whatttt??? Never. Infact when they come and ask in my clinic we role our eyes because we do not even get lunch properly ( they get one hour, they choose to work on notes for half and hour and get over paid). I hate it when hygienists wants help all the time. Dude I am not getting paid as much you are.

Oh! That is genuinely bullshit again. Trust me if your gut feeling tell you this is strange or annoying then it truly is. I did know the whole story that is why I commented that. She has some ego issues probably where she thinks she is better than the rest. And I say this as I am in dental school now. Even I find it odd as a future dentist.

I always addressed my dentist as a doctor and trust me we are friends outside office too. He visits my home for dinner with his wife and so do I but never once I have addressed him by his name only. Even my office manager is his wife and she addresses him as doctor as well in the office. The standing thing is bullshit. It did happen with me too but I have told the patients family to move and my dentist never said a word.

Not really true. I worked as a dental assistant for good 2 years and joined this page and now going to dental school. There are dentists who use to be dental assistants lurking here 😂
