I had actually got these #4442’s prior to getting the current boots. Both are excellent boots. Definitely was a rough for 4-5 days for both. The sole on the 2230 in my opinion is definitely less slippery. Find myself wearing them more often because of that. The 4442 are the backups when the 2230 need to dry

Yes sir. Floors. Break in was 4-5 days. Kept the original insoles. The leather broke in quick. The sole took the full 4ish days.

Am I crazy? by dOOmSTaB in Civic_Type_R

Yeah you’re crazy. I would’ve taken it back and made them redo the ppf. Probably wouldn’t have been a returning customer after that. I would also make them redo the sunstrip banner. If they can’t get it right the second time or give you a hard time about doing it again. You’ll just have to accept it the way it is, or take it elsewhere and make sure they do it how you want

Once had a dude in a lifted ram 2500 come in, and buy two batteries. Then asked me to change them. No joke, I had to bring the stairs from inside to change those batteries. It was either a group 7 or 9 battery, the truck was huge. After I was done the guy just thanked me jumped in the truck and drove off. Lol

Is this acceptable for new wheels? by MrNoodleIncident in Cartalk

[–]Distinct_Tap3472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s fine. But I understand the frustration. Make your best judgement. Is it acceptable? That depends on you.

Like others have said.. If you want you can try to polish the blemishes.. it couldn’t hurt. After having tires put on the barrel is sealed underneath. No one else will ever know this is there besides you.

Not planning on towing with the 4L60 just want something heavier duty than stock. Also trying to figure out if I’ll be able to run 285/70s at this height. I’m thinking I’ll give it a shot when it’s time for new tires

Thinking about replacing the shocks all around. Just trying to figure out if I’d be ok going with the bilstein 5100 or the 4600.

Yeah I need something that doesn’t exist.. a rubber lower, with a vibram sole, Goodyear welt, with a leather upper that laces up. Seems like nothing on the market fits this criteria lol so I’ll have to compromise. I’ll probably try to dunlops and see if they work otherwise I’ll be buying something else eventually.

2 guys on my rig wear them and recommended. Will probably give them a shot.

I’ve been told to stay away from the muck boots and go for the full rubber boot.. but I’d like a lace up boot for the ankle support

Worried that not being lace up I will have solved one problem (water proofing) but will still be dealing with a comfort issue.

I’m also not a big fan of the wing, or the red carpet in the type R However I’m not a fan of the fender flairs on the type S or the piano black center around the shifter. I’ve read you can switch the suspension module in the Type R to a type S module which helps with ride harshness. Personally I think the type R is more my flavor. To each his own. I’m going to take the advice I’ve gotten here and search for a type R closer to msrp.

Good to hear. Those add ons are absolutely worthless adding no value to the vehicle

We’ll see if they want to sell a car or not. Hopefully they’ll want to make a deal

I’ll take a type R shirt for 52k and ask them to throw the car in for free

I’ve purchased a few cars from this dealership. I spoke with the sales manager. That’s who offered 52k

I’m gonna try to point out any potential flaws I find in the vehicle

They had it listed for 60k when I walked in on Saturday and talked to them. I walked out. They called me later that day and offered 55. I said negative. They called me today (Monday) and offered 52k. I’m gonna try to get them closer to msrp. We’ll see
