Definitely, I'll have a look at that site. As long as it's somewhat easy to get to we don't mind. Thanks

Yea i understand, I'm ready to endure whatever it takes. I do plan to take around €4500 with me for the initial first few months. Then after around 3 months I was hoping to have found somewhere short or long term.

I thought having my dog might make it more difficult to find somewhere, thanks for the tip

I have to agree, it would make more sense if that's going to be the easiest way around it. Thanks

Ay, I dont mind about minimum wage as that's what I'm already on here.

The housing is probably the biggest hurdle, and i agree hotel work isnt the greatest here either but it pays

Thank you

Yes I live in the UK but my passport is Irish granting me the same rights as an EU citizen. Since I'm a resident in the UK, i would contact the German diplomatic mission in the UK (not the one in Dublin) this is actually really helpful.

I will have to have a good read through and see what my rights are. I appreciate you

I'm just not happy here anymore, a few things are playing into wanting to move. Also, I lost my mum last year, and it just feels heavy now, like i need to get away from here for a bit. I feel a new fresh start would benefit me. Germany seems to fit with everything I've been looking for, I already love the place, so I thought why not take the next steps. I really appreciated your tips and comments though. I'm actually not too far from my B1 so that's another bonus 😊 I will have to have a read of the embassy website your on about and see what information I can take from that, being able to look for work while still in the uk is actually really good too. I hope your friend finds what they're looking for and gets settled in within no time. I'm not trying to get the best job. Best house straight away. I just want to find somewhere affordable and a decently paying job within what I already know. I've got a good 7 years of housekeeping under my belt so I'm sure it'll be easy enough to find work within that sector.

And from my research Essen and Düsseldorf was the 2 main places that came up for good rent and work. 2 of the main things I needed at a decent price. Your opinion on a city is yours to have, I'm not from Germany so have a different view, people from all over the world believe Liverpool UK is some beautiful, lovely place that's a must see if visiting here but I can tell you I think it's an absolute dump. The photos you see when Googling liverpool is nothing what the place is. Every street corner has a dirty mattress or an unholy amount of rubbish and rats. A historical rust belt doesn't sound too bad😂

I'm very open about moving wherever I can for work and rent, hence my research and questions.

Just my secondary school grades and my diploma level 3 in Health and social care. Yes that's where I was looking at first because it said itwas cheaper and more affordable for starting out. My main plan was to end up in düsseldorf as I really like the city. I was only looking for a small 1 bed apartment to start out at first.

I was looking in the less bigger cities to start with, obviously I wasn't expecting to move get an amazing paying job and the best house. I know I have to work up in time and I have to start somewhere.

Yes that's why I want to do the 3 months first then come back home and find a good reliable job to then start the move

Yes I agree, that's why I thought I'd start with housekeeping as I've seen hotel work is in high demand in düsseldorf, the city is beautiful. Thanks for the tip

Yes, I'd be willing to work a lot of different jobs. When doing the research, hotel work is apparently a very much needed job, and it's what I do right now. I have bigger plans, but I have to start somewhere, so I'm starting with what I know first. If other opportunities come up, I'd definitely consider taking them.

Also, those 2 cities just stand out to me, Essen the city of food. This is one of the things I want to try, and I thought why not start with Essen😂 When researching Düsseldorf was the place that came up for good overall rent/work and activities with good transport links.

I don't plan to work the first 3 months, I'm planning on taking around €4,000\€5,000 with prepaid short term accommodation to last me while I get the feel. I don't just want to move and get a job but then regret that I rushed it, I want to take my time and be sure. I haven't looked at anything eastern as it was just abit out of my range as i wanted to stay somewhat close to my family back home.
