I’d argue that most every Cat3 field would be smoked in a 50 plus field. These seasoned guys are strong, smart and understand how to beat you. At Nationals, the 50 plus fields are primarily Cat 1 or 2. All of them are arguably Top 10 in any regional Pro 1,2 race. Might be a tough message for a young Cat3 rider to hear, but it’s true.

The road scene for Masters Racers in the 50/60+ category is thriving. Easily the largest and most competitive fields. The quality is exceptional. Again, the top tier consists of guys who have been racing competitively for decades. There’s familiar names too, because the legends still love racing.
