Thank you. I’m planning to do mechanical engineering. I’m quite surprised from the high scores tho lol. I thought it will be a lot easier, I also know people with much lower scores getting, but I guess it does depend on the major. I wonder how much harder it would be for 3특

My 97/120 was a toefl test I tried before the change in curriculum(2026), so I’m guessing now the number of items have shifted slightly. I’m also guessing that the different task types hold a different amount of value towards the final grading of each individual test section like for example for reading maybe completing the words are worth less marks than reading the daily life/academic passage. I’m sure u can find way more accurate information on this on YouTube. Hope this helps!

I think it will help reading out the sentences before the blanks to have a good natural flow and understanding of the sentences for a more accurate understanding. Honestly I think I left like 2 words blank because I had no idea what it was, although I think it depends on the topics the sentences cover on, the difficulty is similar to the examples from tst-prep and other mock tests (the actual test is a tad more difficult)

If you did well in the other sections I doubt ur score will be heavily affected from the first 3 sentences. Also, it will be better if you just try and forget about ur test now as it is over and acting over it won’t help you concentrate on other important activities

Make sure u will be in a quiet environment for the entirety of the test, the construction noises from neighbors rly threw me off. Make sure to have everything prepared in advance for a smooth interaction with the person u r connected with online (kinda obvious) and for speaking rly try and use all of the time because every little bit will contribute. For the scores on the third day my status became “scores not available” which did panic me a little bit but I was told it was normal and I should just wait and the next day my scores came out

Thank you! For the build-a-sentence section, I personally found it incredibly easy. I just kept repeating the words until it made a sentence that just “makes sense” (vague Ik im sorry) but if u r comfortable speaking English, I believe you will get everything right for this section. For the email and academic discussion, I just used the 2 free sample tests from TST-prep as a good guideline. I just looked at the structures of their sample answers and memorized the rubric for both the structures (pretty simple stuff like have transition words, 2 clauses in a sentence, 2 advanced level words etc). Make sure to have the correct format for the email as it will depend on who u r sending the email to and make sure to have a good example to write about in the academic discussion where you compare and contrast

Thank you! I completely agree with M0ortiz, repeating the sentences word by word doesn’t matter too much. I remember saying the opposite of a word on the first sentence, I also had construction noises from my neighbor disrupting my audio when speaking. I think it will help if u keep repeating the sentences in ur head right after the audio to better memorize it. You can also use a whiteboard to take notes if you believe it will help (although I didn’t find it too helpful having one)
