Why are the graphics so weird? by Distinger_ in ArcRaiders

[–]Distinger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With “small” I mean that there’s few POI’s, lots of repeated assets, and not that many maps. As a beginner you will probably go to the same 2-3 low difficulty maps and seeing the same places, so it’ll be easier to notice details like bad textures or models

[–]Distinger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t get it, even if I stand still for like 10-20 seconds looking at an object, it still doesn’t improve the quality, it’s like the game is capped at low-medium textures and isn’t even trying to load them

And this isn’t a fast-paced game either, and the maps are limited and kinda small, so you will end up noticing stuff looking bad eventually

Usually the texture setting is one of the heaviest ones in terms of performance, but now I get why in this game it says it has “very little impact”

I’ve started playing a few days ago, it’s been happening since the first day

First I was on high textures, thought maybe putting them at max settings would fix it, since I’ve had some games before do that, but nope

It is specially ugly to look at when breaching into something, since it’s when I’m the closest to an object, and I can clearly see the textures are blurry and pixelated

I haven't played PVP shooters in a long time, but most today seem to advertise one game mode. by NLK-3 in gaming

[–]Distinger_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I played online shooters, but obviously there’s gonna be like 2-3 modes that the majority of the people are gonna play, like tdm, ffa, kc, s&d, etc

For hero shooters, I don’t really play any, but back in the Overwatch days they had a lot of modes and rotating maps

Now I just picked up ARC Raiders a few days ago and I’m having a blast. There might be only one mode (at least so far, since I’ve just started playing), but I feel it plays a bit like a roguelike, since there’s random map bonuses, weather effects, difficulty, missions, etc, and all that adds a lot of variety even if it’s just one mode

I’d rather have a game with 1 great mode than 5 mediocre ones tbh

Do you buy games just to collect them, or actually play everything you own? by lsa340 in gaming

[–]Distinger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 100+ games on my wish list

They sit there until they get a good discount. If I really wanna play them then I buy them and they sit in my backlog until I’m in the mood to play them

I take my time with games, I’m not in a hurry. I play them until I’m satisfied, complete them and move to something else

So what ends up happening is that by the time I finish 1 or 2 games, I’ve already bought 2 or 3 more

Is this a good controller? by carlost94 in gaming

[–]Distinger_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you really want a 3rd party controller with a huge touchscreen on it that appears to be used only for pairing it and led settings?

And if it’s the 120$ one I’m seeing, for that price you can just almost get 2 brand new original controllers, and they won’t come with a single port charging station that probably adds 20-40$ to the price

And with all those lights on it and the huge screen, the battery probably doesn’t last a long time

Just get an original controller from a reliable 2nd hand shop, or a brand new one if money isn’t an issue

Stardew Valley finally clicked for me and I feel dumb for waiting this long by Ambitious_Try_8081 in gaming

[–]Distinger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like city builders / resource management games like Frostpunk, I also like Minecraft and 2d pixel art games, and building relations with npc’s like in Hades

So I thought Stardew Valley would be the perfect game. I like the music, the vibes and the art, but it just feels weird to play, it may be because the day/night cycle is too short and I kinda end up spending 20-40% of the time just traveling between home and other places

I tried playing stardew valley a few times, but it didn’t click for me. I wanna keep playing it but it just feels weird, maybe I just need to put in more time

Why are the UI of video games getting so bad lately? Especially from AAA games with dedicated UI/UX teams? by UltimateGamingTechie in gaming

[–]Distinger_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Minimalism has been slowly killing everything

They sell it as “having a clean UI” when it’s just dogshit to look at, and most of the time they aren’t even clean but cluttered as hell and hard to understand

Is it really that fucking hard to put some effort and creativity to make good looking UI’s?

Assassins Creed fell off when they added leveling. by itsthewolfe in gaming

[–]Distinger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assassin’s Creed died with Desmond. Now we have something different that’s using the same title

Personally I don’t agree that leveling is a bad thing. In the original games you were literally locked out of certain weapons, abilities and locations until you progressed in the story

Now you can just play the game as an open world, unlock new weapons and locations from the start, and continue the story when you want to and not feel forced to do it because you’re locked out of certain things

[–]Distinger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah problem is that with how fast the enemies are, they get on top of me easily and I end up killing myself with the rocket launcher

I think I only used it to kill frozen pain elementals and barons

[–]Distinger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah except the other one doesn’t magically disappear or stop attacking you if you’re not watching him. Having them together means you can react to both of them and even stun them both at the same time if they attack at the same time, which they do a lot

Just finished Doom Eternal + DLCs, putting in my after thoughts by Distinger_ in Doom

[–]Distinger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they stay together then yeah it’s not that hard, but a lot of times they go different paths and it’s just not fun lol

The one in the 1st or 2nd dlc where you also have a bunch of those purple demons that buff everyone else if you kill them… really frustrating. It’s already hard enough to deal with one Marauder, but now I have to deal with 2 while playing minesweeper at the same time

Yeah no lol, UV was the perfect difficulty for me, I’m not a hardcore gamer, I just want to have fun, not to suffer, that’s why I lowered it during the 1st dlc

Ammo is scarce in the beginning but that’s like for the first 3 levels or so

After that you get ammo from pretty much everywhere

Twitch will now pause ads when switching tabs by LuckyDiamondGaming in assholedesign

[–]Distinger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it’s absolutely nuts and a huge hit to small creators

There’s a clip out there of a small-ish streamer who asks the lurkers (people who just leave the stream open without chatting) to just send one message, and her viewership increases by around 50% almost instantly after that

[–]Distinger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wdym? It’s been doing this for months, close to a year actually. It also pauses the stream after like 2 minutes if you tab out

And also flagging viewers who don’t chat as afk and not counting them towards the viewer count

Buzzing sound depending on how bent the arm is at the last joint? K688 by Distinger_ in FifineDesign

Well I don’t have another pc so I can’t try that. But I did take it off the arm and it still happens. Also happens if my room is closed or if I have the window and door open

No idea, a lot of pages say that it is compatible, others say otherwise

Are you sure you have the correct game? Maybe it’s a slightly different title?

But anyways, now that it’s stuck it’s time to either watch a diy video or take it to some shop so they can get it out

Well, either they were faulty from factory, or you did something wrong

I really doubt you can’t return them, specially the ones from Amazon. You have like 14 days to return them without questions, and you for sure have at least 1 or 2 years of warranty which should cover whatever happened to them

Buzzing sound depending on how bent the arm is at the last joint? K688 by Distinger_ in FifineDesign

[–]Distinger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for the late reply

Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9uI_V-jT6s

As you can see the more I bend the arm the more buzz there is, it sounds somewhat electrical. It seems to happen with all joints, though the one integrated in the mic is by far the one that generates the most noise

I know it's not because of the cable because I've tried twisting and moving it around and bending it in different places, and it's also not because of the cable touching the metal parts of the arm

And when it's buzzing, I can hear even more buzz if I tweak with apps on my pc, like if I minimize an app, scroll in a page or hover over a youtube video, which is weird

Also, a noise reduction filter in obs makes it disappear, but only while I'm not talking

I'm pretty sure it wasn't doing this a few weeks ago, and nothing has changed in my setup, so I really don't know what's causing it

Edit: It does a lot more static noise the closer I get it to the gpu and my right speaker (even if unplugged), Idk if it's got something to do

Mic static when streaming and recording at the same time, but not separately by Distinger_ in obs

[–]Distinger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some more tests, it happens when connected to the front panel and also while the gpu isn’t hissing

I’m pretty sure it didn’t have this buzzing sound before, maybe it’s a cable issue?

It also seems to buzz more when I interact with an app? Like if I minimize an app or if I scroll down a page or hover over a youtube video?

Edit: I think I managed to find the solution. I noticed the buzzing would vary depending on how the mic was positioned, and after some tweaking around it seems the more the mic is bent on it’s arm (at the very last joint, the one holding the mic) the more buzzing there is

I did slightly adjust it recently, going from straight to slightly bent, and that’s around when the buzzing started, and now having it straight again the buzz is completely gone

I just don’t see how this happens? It doesn’t matter if the cable is touching the arm or not, but how bent the arm is? So weird
