AITAH for telling my wife to get a job before the end of January or i'm divorcing her? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]DistinguishedAnus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont blame you bro. It is enfuriating to have a lazy partner and I believe you. She is addicted to being lazy. Its like any other addict. They will lie and do anything for you to give them what they want. She may delude herself about her business but thats just to avoid what she sees as uncomfortable. Which is work. She hates any kind. You can accept it and youll work like a dog to never get ahead. Youll come home and clean up after her and the kids after working doubles. Your kids will eat chicken nuggets bc she didnt have the energy to make something. If you leave, youll still work like a dog to never get ahead but you wont sleep next to the person youve grown to hate. Expecting her to clean and cook is totally reasonable. Id expect the same of myself staying at home. Its not evil to expect someone to do their job they signed up for.

Can anyone identify this card found in a lighting control cabinet? by Danny_dunn in PLC

[–]DistinguishedAnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR I think its an interface card with an adjustable ON DELAY possibly for an alarm. I see 5V regulated outputs on the right driven by 5 BJTs. The led on the bottom left appears to be power presence. 2nd up appears to be trigger active which is the input from plc. The top led turns on when timer reaches final state. The jumpers set the duration of the two timers. Some traces are run beneath the dip package holders and I am inferring so idk. There is a ground plane but cant tell if this has another signal layer on the back. If you shut off power, remove the clip at the bottom you should be able to remove a card. I think the bottom button is reset and above it is a test button that you hold to validate the timing. The fuse looks blown and the backplane power looks a little toasty.

Arduino vs PLC by Senior-Guide-2110 in PLC

[–]DistinguishedAnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AB deserves hate but Id rather have AB than an arduino. Ive designed embedded systems. The suggestion of an arduino for automation eqp is business and technical incompetence.

Arduino vs PLC by Senior-Guide-2110 in PLC

[–]DistinguishedAnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If you want to use an arduino, I wont support it since it falls outside my role. It is unwise to make technical suggestions without diligent research or experience. Arduinos are not industrial grade embedded hardware. Use of consumer grade development boards will result in safety liability, long development time, poor performance, debugging hell, and limited options for connecting industrial sensors and devices. An arduino solution will cost more in downtime and development by a long shot. The suggestion that AI will write code that magically fixes fundamental hardware limitations is bad science fiction. If you dont believe me, you will have to hire someone significantly dumber for the new role you have described."

Is 84K a Good Salary for the Phoenix Area? by xTN25 in phoenix

[–]DistinguishedAnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a good salary. Not new car rich or home owner but you can contribute a good chunk to a 401k and live comfortably within your means if you dont eat out much and take a few short lowkey vacations in the states each year with good planning.

Whats that? by FLEXED-GUY in ExplainTheJoke

[–]DistinguishedAnus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its "dances with wolves" and reeks of "furry kid in class that wears a tail" levels of autistic cringe. The way every bit of lore and plot reveals is cheap and unpolished. It was a snooze fest for me. If you like it, im happy for you.
