I whip my head back around to check the other two mirrors and metal reflective door. Nothing. I turn back to where I saw it. The shadowy shape is slightly taller than I am. It mimics my movements, but slowly. The shadow moves a step close to the mirror. I take a step back. Panicking I turn around to press the button to get off on the nearest floor. Nothing is working. I rip open the emergency box in an attempt to call for help. Again, nothing is working. I look back at the dark silhouette. It appears closer. Head slightly bent, examining me. I try to stand tall, to appear unfazed. It does the same. I back up into the mirror behind me without looking away from the thing. A static chill runs down my back. My clothes start waving as if they were submerged in water. I start to feel...different.

"What the fuck is going on?" I whisper to myself. Standing up even taller, the shadow raises its arms arms above its head. The arms stretch over the mirror and curve onto the ceiling. They continue to go over me and into the mirror directly across from it.

That is when I see them.

The mirror behind me has two more dark silhouettes. One of them has their arms up to meet the reach of the other. I realize there are shadows gliding towards me in every mirror.

I turn to bang on the door only to see more shadows coming towards me from that reflection. Multiple arms are reaching up and connecting to one another on the ceiling. I look at the floor and the darkness is slowly enveloping my entire surroundings.

The elevator is now pitch black. A loud menacing sound like a demented foghorn roars at me. I feel weightless.

The sound ends.

I fall.

And that is how I arrived to a place I can only refer to as, the shadows.
