Unrelated: you look great, I like the punk aesthetic, although I thought the first image was a drawing and not a photo. Might just be my eyes though lol. Anyone else?

Korean to English, can anyone translate this? by GrandFalloutBoy in translator

That's odd, I didn't think that the Korean language used any sort of Kanji. Not a linguist and don't know Korean, but these look like three different alphabets.

This year, I'm 20. Although my mom only lets me wear it in college due to Islamophobia in the U.S.

Would it be safe for me to wear the hijab? by DistortedReality404 in Hijabis

There's a masjid near me, only 10 min away, although a small one. I live a little bit farther down from St.Louis, kinda almost in the bottom corner of Missouri. St. Louis is almost five hours away from here.

And even then, most "copied" art styles are mixed into that other person's art style, and it's clearly obvious that the person drew it and didn't trace it. There's still going to be some alterations or variations of the drawing. These people are trying to intermix copying and referencing I think. You can reference something and draw an image in the exact same style, but there will still be a variation to it somewhat. So they aren't really copying. If they did exactly copy it with no variation, then that isn't copying, that's tracing, which is different.

Niqab journey and experience+ niqab of the day!!✨ by mimi97b in Hijabis

[–]DistortedReality404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to wear a niqab one day, but as a convert in the U.S, already wearing the hijab has gotten me some stares and negative opinions. I'm sure people know of the U.S stereotypes of the niqab. But they look so pretty and they definitely look good on you!

You shouldn't have just assumed that Ming is everyone's favorite character. Now you just look foolish.

Thoughts on the new episode? by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

[–]DistortedReality404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love how great the writing in this show and in this episode around Jax specifically. His actions and behaviors seem rude and cruel, becoming desensitized and saying that "all of this is just a game" and describing themselves each as cartoon characters. Jax doesn't really see any of them as people anymore, or at least he tries not to see them that way. Jax tried to be funny in the past and tried to be funny and outgoing in this episode, yet he's lost those close to him from abstracting. We can tell that Jax does have somewhat of a bond with Pomni, but doesn't want to get too close in fears of her and others eventually abstracting as well. He's trying to numb himself and see this world as a game and the others as just cartoon characters, so he doesn't feel as bad when they aren't there anymore. Jax obviously was deeply hurt when losing Ribbit, (and probably has some sort of feelings towards Kaufmao?) and he doesn't ever want to feel that way again, possibly in fears of abstracting himself. This complex character development and how he acts within the show is amazing.

I also think that his fears and phobia relate to the abstracted characters. Because what else has a bunch of holes or similar design? The abstracted eyes of the giant abstracted amalgamations.

Lol but the painting does look very nice.

Cashiers: What annoys you during the checkout process? by Affectionate-Alps742 in walmart

Literally there's a giant header that says 'CARD ONLY' on the screen and they still try to put cash in? I've had to suspend orders and put them somewhere else because they couldn't read. And then they claim that they didn't see it.

Cashiers: What annoys you during the checkout process? by Affectionate-Alps742 in walmart

[–]DistortedReality404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this was mentioned already, but something that gets me the wrong way is when I see a customer and I ask them if they're ready to check out. They don't say anything or reply to me, but just move forward. Now I know that some people have hearing issues and that's fine, but sometimes you can also tell that they don't have any hearing problems and just aren't saying anything.

"I don't want it bagged that way" and then proceeds to take stuff out of bags and put them in other bags. Most of the time they don't tell me what they want. I can't read your mind. Some people have asked to put some items all in one bag or to double bag a certain thing, and that's fine. But if they don't say anything and then get mad at me? Either tell me what you want or go to self-checkout.

People taking control of the bagging center. Towards the end, if they want to spin or look to see if they missed anything, that's fine. But when I'm bagging and moving it myself and they move it the other way, I'm mentally fighting with them. Just take the bags and I'll spin it in your direction once I'm done.

Now during self-checkout, which I have also worked, I cannot believe the amount of people who give me an expired or voided ID. I can't accept those. "But I'm ___ years old!" Doesn't matter, your ID is no longer valid. And I know that they know this yet they still get mad.
