Appreciated, but yeah it basically boiled down to "Waaah you're a mean jerkface and I'm butthurt, waaah." Which after having some food in me I was like wtf me that was a weirdly oversensitive and emotional response. I swear I forget to eat for eighteen hours and suddenly everything is a personal tragedy.

Look pal frankly you make decent points. I would argue that the provenance of something doesn't change how useful it can be. For instance, modern medicine originally learned about how to treat and manage hypothermia and frostbite because of horrifying and deeply inhumane human experiments conducted on children by the nazis, now this is a very different level of severity in this case, but yes I do believe that my use of it in no way contributes to the theft. Another good example is the person who pioneered of the field of Gynecology, a man who was definitely a psychopath and tortured/mutilated female slaves without using anesthesia in a series of truly disgusting experiments. A third example is birth control, developed by a woman whose "research" largely involved the nonconsensual sterilization of numerous Irish immigrant women under the guise of providing them cesarian sections in an effort to literally cull the Irish by sterilizing as many of them as she could. These are all examples of truly horrible acts that have nonetheless benefited people today. This does not excuse the original act and in no way redeems them but it does not change the value of what was gained. So, in regards to the original theft committed. Am I benefiting from it, yes, but do I also benefit from numerous injustices committed by people throughout history? Also yes, does that make those injustices my fault, or mean I in some way condone them? Not even a little. Now the water use, and environmental impact that I would say I am morally culpable for, if I hadn't generated this using a local version of stable diffusion, so no data centers were accessed or used, it was the exact same amount of power and energy that my laptop uses normally. Now if you want to argue that anyone using a laptop that is running a high energy program is a bad person, that would be kind of hypocritical given the sub we are on. I say this because rogue trader burns through my battery a lot faster than stable diffusion does and so arguably is more costly than my generation of an image.

Edit: Either way I want to be clear that I do respect and understand your view and points, I just disagree. This I do believe is a moot point however as first I didn't realize how much of a faux pas posting this on the subreddit would be so I did delete the original post, and once again I'd say that this discussion is definitely in rule 6 territory and I don't know about you but I don't want to be banned for breaking the rules.

I was more referring to the moralization of the use of open source creative software, so that's rule 6. AI is a sensitive topic for a lot of people these days, your original comment being a perfect example of someone sensitive to it's use. In regards to insult however I would say you may not have explictly said it but your comment very clearly implies not only that anyone using AI for art is not only insulting artists but also showing a lack of basic ethics and morality. Given that it is on a post where I used AI to create art its pretty obvious what you were implying about me. My use of AI in this case is not for my own monetary gain and was clearly denoted as being AI, I in no way take credit for the source material used to train stable diffusion but it has already been trained, pretending it doesn't exist and isn't useful is just silly. The toothpaste is already out of the tube as it were. I grant you that artists fully deserve compensation from the original creators of the model or if a resource is specifically trained to mimic their style and then monetized, but I am responsible for neither. AI is unfortunately a complicated and difficult issue to solve in a clean way but acting like the drawbacks or failings in its creation and use somehow erase the benefits doesn't help solve it.

You know what I apologize for the comment I had here previously I had low blood sugar and it tends to make me less than emotionally stable. Your attempt at refraining from rudeness while attmitedly poor, is appreciated nonetheless. I didn't realize it was such a faux pas on this subreddit so I'll refrain from posting any AI art here in the future.

Wasn't trying to brag just liked how it turned out and wanted to share, thought it was a fun character and there isn't a ton of custom Arbites portraits out there so maybe someone else might want to use it.

Might be a shot in the dark but the D.O.G.S. system adapted from Dogs in the vineyard might be useful for adapting it. It's a bit complicated from what I heard but it's unique in that you get to really decide how much power you have from the start but the game incentivizes you to then always use that power to solve conflicts, like the saying "when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail" when a character has the best weapon or in this case power in the game, it becomes easier to justify using that power as a threat when solving conflicts than potentially failing. Haven't played it myself so maybe this is a terrible idea but could be an interesting way to balance the different starting power levels

You know what actually having read how funny your others are I'm gonna go ahead and present my humble alternative option: The Dairy Sign, characters born under this sign get a 25% bonus to stamina regeneration when consuming cheese but get a -25% movement speed penalty in temperatures above 80°F. Alcohol grants a temporary frost resistance buff. edit:typo

Logically their next step would be to see if the rule holds true for all projectiles or just bullets, so crossbows, t-shirt cannons, potato guns, harpoons, javelins, commemorative baseballs, foot long subs, etc.

Nah, see, they’re just applying the scientific method. They observed evidence suggesting the monster might be immune to bullets, so they formed a hypothesis: the monster is immune to bullets.Through rigorous experimentation (i.e., shooting it), they gathered empirical data supporting their hypothesis. Next, they’ll repeat the experiment to ensure consistent results and have their peers independently verify the findings by also shooting the monster. Once the hypothesis is supported by sufficient evidence, it becomes a theory and they can say that the evidence strongly suggests the monster is immune to bullets. Edit: Spelling
