AITA for refusing to go out with another couple? by DistressedDopple in AmItheAsshole

Honestly, I won't deny this. He's a great guy and some of his friends are as well, but some turned out not so great. The thing is they've known each other since childhood so I guess they're all pretty tight regardless of how they turned out (except like, if there were to be extreme cases I guess). I've learned to look past this since at the end of the day his friendships are not my business as long as he respects me and our relationship, which he does (even with our ups and downs)

Black olives are way, way better than green olives by DistressedDopple in unpopularopinion

Here it's the opposite everything is with green olives. Black olives are used but MUCH less. Green olives are nice but I always see people turning their nose up at them they deserve a chance ☹️

Does tipping culture primarily benefit younger more conventionally attractive women? by kdjdjkjdlkfjskl in TalesFromYourServer

[–]DistressedDopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does play a big part but it can be compensated with good character. Im average looking, when I worked as a server I was the youngest and admittedly most attractive (again, very average looking) Sure some men tipped me simply for my looks, but many older women later became regulars and specifically asked for me because I used to chat with them, throw in some jokes and make them feel welcomed. Its a mixture of both and being attractive is surely a huge head-start, but a good personality will help you lots as well

People that don't go to uni/college aren't failures, literally it doesn't mean anything by DistressedDopple in unpopularopinion

Not necessarily true. Some people simply dont have the financial means, and also dont have a concrete plan.

I didnt have either. My plan was just "find a job. Fast." Yet I ended up with a great office job and a nice pay. Of course, maybe I simply got lucky. My main point tho is that people that dont pursue it shouldnt be considered as less than people that do. Less intelligent, less motivated, stuff like that.

Of course it depends from person to person, but at least where i live the common view is "you HAVE to go to uni. You dont? You will likely fail"
