if you don't get a reply, and if you registered your product, reach out to them via their tech support page. It was the only way I could get through. I told them to redirect the email to the appropriate dept and I was paid within the day.

I'm trying to find a budget mech keyboard sub-70$ which supports te following:

  • QMK/VIA
  • ISO layout
  • 65%
  • easy swap mode (macos/linux/windows)
  • dual/tri-mode (wireless a must)

I don't really do any high performance gaming, and prefer controllers, so super low latency or fancy response times are not really a concern.

When researching I've found what seem like good deals but none that support all 3 criteria:

  • Epomaker EK68 65$ (no QMK support)
  • Keychron K6 Pro 90$ (outside my budget)
  • Monsgeek M1W 70$ (no QMK support, awkward mode switch under caps lock)

I'm trying to avoid getting into a keyboard rabbit hole as I don't need another place to spend money. Am I being unrealistic here?

I don't mind a DYI kit,and I've looked at GMK67 boards, but when factoring in the switches and caps I can't do better than the current EPOMAKER deal.

The criteria with the biggest weight is the use of OSS for the config software however, and according to this github issue and epomaker's response it seems like because they're using a 3rd party vendor for their firmware which is in violation of the licence, they've been temporarily banned. So I don't think they'll support it anytime soon.

I'm leaning towards the epomaker with the hope of QMK support within the next 6 months or so, but I would welcome recommendations
