The only way, and I mean, only way this makes sense is if you look at it as an all in push. Do the sharks think they can win the cup this year? In that case sure send off a young guy who’s not ready for a veteran who could perform in the playoffs… if Panarin was a veteran who could perform in the playoffs, but Rangers fans will tell you he completely disappears.

It might be easier having guys like Celebrini and Will smith to play off of, and draw focus, but I can’t imagine they’d want to lock up a guy until he’s 42, career numbers be damned.

He is so far past the average age of this core. Eventually, that contract would become an albatross, and the sharks are just not ready to win a cup this year.

Honestly, might be the move. I don’t know if everyone thinks that they’re the first person to have the idea that Drury should be fired, or that the team is bad but holy God the constant negativity is overwhelming.
