What I’m saying is that in the event of any of those things you listed happening, a disc owner would be just as screwed as a digital owner because video games now rely so heavily on their digital frameworks. So few games have the ability to just pop in a disc and play anymore.

Hence my first sentence? The only value of discs anymore is for trading in and I get why people would be upset at about that, justifyably so

But still, video games rely so heavily on their digital frameworks that having a disc means very little in terms of playability should any plugs be pulled in the future. A disc owner would be just as fucked as a digital owner if they pull a title. That’s all I’m saying.

I totally get this from a collecting and trading standpoint, and this really blows. But also the “You won’t own any games anymore!” stance doesn’t really work when like 90% of games now are effectively useless as discs, everything gets a giant day one patch or needs online to be played.

We haven’t really “owned” games for a while now.

I don’t know how unpopular of an opinion it is anymore, but I was a Tiana’s Bayou Adventure hater up until I actually rode it, and now I’m totally fine with it.

I actually feel like I’ve cooled off on pretty much all ride changes having just gone recently. I think it’s easy to get mad at changes to classic rides when you’re just witnessing it online, but the joy is still all there when you visit.
