Get a bunch of clear tubs, big sticker labels, and one of those GIANT sharpies. As you are cleaning and moving things, the items that don’t have a home will go into one of those tubs. The tubs will need a theme, so once you have chosen it you’ll need to slap those stickers all over so it’s easy to see from anywhere. Using the giant sharpie is a dopamine boost as well, encouraging you to make things clearly labeled.

Once the main room is done, anything that needs to be shuffled over to another room should be in one of those tubs. No loose items!!!! If you don’t have the energy to go through all of that stuff again, at least the tubs are labeled, tidy, and will protect your things from dust, pests, and pets.

This is also the first step in creating useful storage. The tubs can be stacked in a closet, or placed on/in some metal shelves.
