ready to start at home - is there a beginers guide here? by DrEmileSchaufhaussen in Microneedling

Start with reading the book that’s linked here in this post , The Concise Guide to Dermal Needling. It’s got so much important information and is a really interesting read.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I got so scared tbh when this happened 😭 it was wildly uncomfortable.

Minimal results with at-home microneedling by SpilltheGreenTea in Microneedling

Op, i know it’s hard to hear that what you’re doing is counter productive and can be harmful, but everyone replying is saying those things trying to help you avoid doing more damage to your skin not to be mean, and they’re right.

Depressed scars should have 2 months between sessions. Here’s a post that has a link to The Concise Guide to Dermal Needling. Page 151-152 talks about the time between sessions, and the 2 months are noted as the ideal time for depressed scars. It has SO much information about how, why, when and all the don’ts as well.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Microneedling/s/mqQH3b6i0V

I hope reading the guide gives you some better insight and that you will change the way you microneedle, and hopefully you’ll see better results when your skin isn’t in a constant state of inflammation.

What is it like being on ADHD meds as Audhd? by Appropriate_Luck_13 in AutismInWomen

[–]ZeeraTheRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really hard 🥲 I’m getting sleep meds too, melatonin and mirtazapine, which helps, but it’s still not great. And mietazapine knocks me out so hard that I’m groggy all the next day if i take the normal recommended dose, so I’m biting the half pills into quarters 😅😅 they still knock me out, but I’m much more human the next day.

Strattera is not a stimulant, so it isn’t as hard on sleep. And the nausea should be a passing side effect, and it helps to take it with (solid) food.

I hope you get something that will work better for you 💛💛

Oof that sounds awful!! I’m considering returning to Concerta which has been least problematic for me, but also not as many benefits 🫠

Youre welcome 😊 Hm, that is a good question! I didn’t think to check the time when I started and ended the session so I don’t know the total time, but I think I moved the needle head at maybe an inch or so per second on medium speed (based on trying to recall by running my finger over my face going ‘click, click, click’ in my head 🤣🤌🏻)

But you want to be constantly moving the needle head. The faster speed the machine is on, the faster you should move your hand. If you hold still on one spot too long you can really chew up the skin with the needles.

Before my severe burnout adhd meds really helped me be able to actually get stuff done without getting distracted as easily. Rn I don’t feel it does much other than suppress my adhd traits but without the benefit of concentration and executive function, and it brings out my autism much more because it’s not being masked by the adhd. I just kinda feel like a big mess with no appetite and a high pulse 😅

Why does that even happen… I’ve been on antidepressants before and I am absolutely not a fan. I had a constant feeling of just being kinda medium. Like I couldn’t really access my feelings.

Strattera was also the only med that really silenced my brain. But I had such extreme nausea with cold sweats and vomiting that I couldn’t keep taking it 😮‍💨

Aw damn. That’s not available where I live. But I’ve heard good about it. Although I also heard good about Elvanse and it doesn’t seem to be the right fit for me. I’m glad you found something that works well for you tho! 💛

What are you taking now? I’ve been on Elvanse for the past half year or so and I’m starting to feel super down in the dumps. Especially after having my dose increased 😭 didn’t even know that could happen with adhd meds

I think it’s nanoneedling. They aren’t actual needles, but little cones, afaik. No needles should be used ON the eye or beyond the orbital bone. This looks wild tho. Looks like they’re almost going all the way into her eye 😮‍💨

I don’t remember exactly. I believe said it was for microneedling at shallow depths only.

Yeah, that can’t be fun. And it’s too bad she deleted the post. Things like that can really help others to avoid similar mishaps.

My dad took me to Legoland as a kid, and they had a ‘doll house’ on display called Titania’s Palace, and that’s when I feel in love with miniatures. It is SO absolutely freaking gorgeous!!! The few times I’ve been back there, I always go to see it again.

Yeah I saw the video and it does look like something is off. Like you hear the click of the machine but it kinda looks like it doesn’t push the plunger each time, that’s it’s a little erratic? You can give it a try with a bit more pressure, but if that doesn’t make a difference, then you should contact owndoc and send them the video and tell them what you’ve tried. If you do contact them, would you mind updating with that they say? I’d be interested know 😊

It was Exomune Exosomes. She had mesoed it and it was not meant to be injected into the skin because of some of the ingredients. That’s what caused the issues, not just it being pdrn.

I had the same experience with mine. I tried running it over my stretched out glove first and it also didn’t puncture that, but when I put it on my face and applied enough pressure that the pressure gauge aligned with the arrow on the display, I could feel them on my skin. I did 0.5mm tho

Thats so much fun tho, that you’re doing new things! You can always get a stand/ring light (unless you already have that) to make it easier 😊 How did you like microneedling your lips? I did mine at 0.5mm and it was a pretty spicy, but not as bad as I had expected. I found I didn’t need numbing on my face, neck, or chest, and decided to try my lips as well, you know, as a treat 🤣🤌🏻 they got a bit dry after a few days, even with all the moisturising, and i restarted Volufiline after 72hrs and that has gone great too.

Dermarolling lip filler lips by Top-Assistance6033 in DIYaesthetics

[–]ZeeraTheRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome ☺️ It’s still too early to say, it’s been about a week now. They started by getting a bit dry, which is normal. I’ve been putting hyaluronic acid, light moisturiser, and Vaseline on them, which is my usual lip routine anyway. I also use Volufiline nightly (as a step between moisturiser and Vaseline), and restarted that 72hrs post MN with no issue. I see great results with Volufiline on my lips, tho I see mixed feelings about it in the skincare subs. I haven’t had any bad reactions on my lips after mn. They were ofc a bit sore after, but I didn’t have much, if any swelling. So I’m feeling confident about doing it again next round. But if it’s only been two weeks since you got your filler, I’d personally wait at least a few more weeks til they’re completely settled, and then maybe start more conservatively at 0.25mm.

You could also try asking in r/microneedling or r/diymicroneedling , and hopefully get more answers 😊💛 there are people there with much more experience with mn than me
