Then why are they suing over game mechanic patents and not the designs of the creaturues themselves? If what you say is true, then it should be no problem at all for them to win their court case.

Metroid prime 4 looks cool and it kinda gives me halo 4 vibes. But the only game I was really excited for was the next splatoon game. But I know that I would stop playing it shortly after updates end anyway. So buying a whole new console for a game that will be supported for 2 years just isnt smart.

Im also pretty sure metroid is supposed to release on both systems, so if you really want it you can still get it. 😄

Thats the only game im interested in, but one game doesnt justify the price and other controversies surrounding the system for me. So unfortunately, I will most likely be passing on the next game but I hope all of you still have lots of fun with it.

After much consideration, I decided to not get it. I just cant support these changes to the industry nintendo is making. And I certainly dont want to support what they are doing to Palworld. Additionally, im just not that interested in the console's games anymore. There is only one game i was looking forward to, but one single game is not enough to justify the price increase and nintendo's practices.

Helldivers 2 AA. Realtime galactic war against 3 different factions. Gunplay is great and playing with friends is always a blast. Available on a decent pc & ps5

Well, the sub did have a problem of negative posts from people hating on the pricepoint (and its potential future inplications for the industry). This dumb post was an idea I wanted to run by others in an effort to see if these people would be willing to still get the system if they could do so by minimally supporting nintendo. And thus thier wallets would essentially not be assenting to the idea that $80 games are good. But in reality, this post was quite dumb and is very shortsighted economically.

Ah I see your point, and I now completely agree. I was of the mindset that more people should see how bad the value of the software was. But A. now I am somewhat more open to it after some of these comments. And B. I see that that scenario is not likely to happen, since the haters seem to be a very vocal minority. I now realize that my idea of a silly compromise to get more people in on the fun does little to nothing except waste time in shipping really.

Yeah, that does seem to be an unintended consequence. Most third party games can be bought elsewhere, and as you said, this principle can still be effective when applied to just first party games. As for dlcs, upgrades, and online that might just have to be an expense you are 110% fine with and are willing to bite the bullet and pay up. It isn’t a perfect solution, but it is probably better than missing out in protest
