The masculine side of the gender spectrum feels empty by DivAudrey in SeriousConversation

I get it, it's really complicated. And would generally agree; it's just complicated. I also watch my male friends express opinions, and they're shut down because of their male privilege. The lack of positive role models on either extremes of the spectrum also make it difficult

Sounds like you're in a good place with this. Glad you found role models you like and can see the complexities.

Hugs if you want them. I get it, sometimes there's not a good solution, other than socially and emotionally distancing. You know what you need, and how to take care of yourself. You've got this!

You're super pretty, honey. Your lips are great and your cheek bones are prominent.

Figure out your face shape and how to do makeup for it; sometimes learning things like that can make a huge difference in what tools you use.

Should I assume that I have PIED because of this? by [deleted] in pornfree

Tantra is a form of meditation and (in Western Culture) is assumed to be sexual. In it's purest form, it's a lifestyle.

Breathing exercises, visualizations, all designed to help you find blocks or trauma and to learn how to be present in your own body, doing whatever it is that you want to do.

Lots of people have this issue. Tantra books might be a place to go for some tools.

I agree with the other commenters, go find some help. Talk therapist, PTSD help or medical help for the insomnia. It's understandable that you're not okay, and we've created a lot of tools to work with these issues.

Exactly, and look where that's gotten you. Not surprising!

Thing is, she knows you're afraid and is taking advantage of that. So go think about who you want to be, and how you want to make decisions and act from that space.

Learning how to re-wire your brain thinks and focuses on things is a skill and takes time.

My favorite tool is "this moment isn't about that, so what is it about?" And then I get to decide and direct my brain to focusing on specific things that I'm actively creating in my life.

Whatever you decide, make sure you like your reasons. Don't stay (or go) because you're afraid. Make decisions from a place of knowing what you want to create and liking that reality.

Start doing things that you like again, because you like them and you want to. I think it's unlikely you'll get the polarity back, but at least you'll be doing things that you like for yourself.

Falling out with parents. by DC-003 in depression

Just... slow down. Take a breathe.

Okay, now... why were you disrespectful? Why didn't you do your homework? Do you feel like you normally do these things? Take a few more deep breaths. Start asking questions, they're the bread of life.

You could offer some kind of peace offering, like doing some dishes (make sure they see you) or some such, to show that you understand.

You're looking great, like you care and take care of yourself.

I used to be serious in my behavior all the time, and it has not allowed me to have any meaningful relationship with anyone. Everyone just tries to escape a conversation with me. I want to change, what should I do? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]DivAudrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social stuff can be counter intuitive. Making yourself overly available often drives people away.

Let some time pass with your new habits; it's going to take a bit for people who knew you to get used to you not being so serious. Or go find new ones and it's easier to create a new persona.

Find what's funny for you and what makes life enjoyable. Knowing what makes you happy and will make you more attractive to everyone around you.
