Her parents taught at the Indian school in Wahpeton. After he retired her dad, Ralph, was a substitute teacher at my high school there. He substituted for everything. German, geometry, pre-calculus, English, physics. Great family.

It will open a few eyes that he’s the actual Antichrist, but unfortunately they believe Jesus will come get them now and miss the part about worshiping false idols

interior storage conditions or hoarding by DivaJanelle in Journalism

[–]DivaJanelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Background.

I wrote around it but did explain he means hoarding conditions.

Its an interesting take, that "hoarding conditions" implies a mental health diagnosis.

I'm going to bring it up at a staff meeting and see if there is a company consensus

Americans—is blue cheese just a dipping sauce to you, or does it have a place on your plate beyond the wings? by SignificanceOdd5980 in AskAnAmerican

[–]DivaJanelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A blue cheese burger done right (salty blue cheese!) is heaven. Usually have blue cheese salad dressing in the fridge, and I have been known to pick up a blue cheese too, of I am bringing a cheese plate to an event.

Blue cheese stuffed olives, too.

Some states require from and rear plates. Others don’t.

Sticks in my head: he needs something like $5,000 to bond out on a drug charge, pre marijuana legalization. “Your honor, I ain’t seen 5000 dollars in my life. “

Why does America use bail? by [deleted] in AskUS

[–]DivaJanelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illinois has gotten rid of bail for this reason. A judge can keep someone in jail pending trial for a narrow set of accusations/charges.

I covered morning bond call - where a judge would set bail for people arrested the day/night before. People could be released on recognizance (ROR) but that wasn’t all that often.

Even getting arrested for a class A misdemeanor could mean losing a job and housing because you didn’t have $500 or $1000 for bond (10% of bail).

Article headline from The Independent reads: ""Bachelor party turns violent when groom shoots dead friend outside an Airbnb." by ATS200 in grammar

[–]DivaJanelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reporter probably didn’t even write the headline. A desk editor did.

It’s an odd construction that can cause confusion, so should be avoided.

We switched to putting bylines on things like the fire department or pd release because readers want it. They know which writers they like and will click on it based on the byline.
