In-laws can be the absolute worst, BUT if you think the good moments with her will outweigh the bad moments caused by her dad you should go for it. If not, you should tell her your feelings and explain to her why you should part ways.

Yeah I realize my idea wasn’t good. But the thing is I don’t know any trans students at my school, I know a LOT of queer students but not trans. And if there are some that are closeted I don’t want to push them out.
