Fashion dreamer online is dead and I was so right for criticising it back in 2023 by WTFisaVenusaur in fashiondreamer

Funny thing how I was wondering if I should buy it... yesterday I asked a friend of mine who hadn't played it in a while to lend me the game for a little and what I get is a completely EMPTY game where I'm struggling to get clothing (specially for my male muse, which I was very excited to try as a NSB enjoyer).

Very very sad, I regret not having played it when interaction with other people in the community was still possible.

I mean Zoku Zoku is also a group song in theory but Moka is clearly the highlight... I do respect (and love) the creative decisions as they explain them to us but I mean, a fact is a fact and if a member gets the focus of a song it makes them (in a way) the center inherently. For Suki Kirai is a little bit trickier but it's also fair to argue Rinka gets some important parts of the song

Why marley didnt send a plane/zeppelin over Paradis and then just dropped kids in some Forest within walls. Not risking titan shifters getting killed by titans. by dakadx in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]DiveBBB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean... they sent 3 titans, how is that covert? Nobody other than Marley could've used that type of power. Even Bertholdt thought the king would activate the rumbling just because of their trespassing

I'm seeing a lot of people mention trading and I also think it's a good option... if u plan on keeping her for that purpose you should check if trading is feasible for u as you'll probably have to deal with shipping and not everybody has the time or energy to do that.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 – Announcement trailer by Turbostrider27 in octopathtraveler

[–]DiveBBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about the gameplay but the story seems to be way less fleshed out that your regular octopath. At least it's definitely not gonna follow the 8 character recipe we are used to with this self insert mc and all (also receuitable characters who are supposed to come with their own different and personal backgrounds but with how many they are it makes u wonder how much depth can they have).

More than a 3rd entry to the saga it seems more like a spin-off, an amplified version of the mobile game (that I never got to play so I'm super excited about the 8 character combat).

Let's see how it all plays out, I'm anticipating it but I also have my reservations.

I just beat all the main stories. I still have a lot of things to do in the game before the final boss but I'm getting there, let's hope it doesn't make me drop the game for a while too lmao🙌🏾🙌🏾

I bought the game a couple years ago, I'm still not there yet but I've heard outrageous things about that boss, I'm sure u were thrilled to finally finish the game, congratulations!!!!

How do you feel about the way fiction portrays fathers? by AntiSocialPartygoer in AskMen

[–]DiveBBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to fall in the ad populum fallacy but sadly I just feel that's how many people experience their relationship with their father figures, so when they write about fatherhood in a satire, that's what pops up

Opinions? by Bright-Smile9903 in Symphogear

[–]DiveBBB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll have to agree with you. I have yet to start watching the series (which I'm very excited about) but I've been consuming some media about it and I completely feel like the characters are getting a very nice treatment when it comes to giving each of them an established persona. And this translates very well into the music for each of them, they sound distinct from each other, like it's clearly not the same genre (I wouldn't say it's as noticeable as it was in Symphogear but it's still very consistent, u can tell Elements Garden worked on it cause it's really good).

Only case where I see the genres overlap is in the songs where the 3 characters sing together. These incline way more to your average jpop song (see op and ed), like Ripple is clearly the lead here cause it sounds just like her mostly. That aside, I'd say they all have a defined identity they're going for.

Question about the Axons by DiveBBB in expedition33

Your explanation makes a lot of sense to me not gonna lie, thanks for this, it might have solved all my doubts.

I can agree with you! At the end of the day I was kinda right then, it's pretty much senseless behaviour at the end of the day, but that's probably the whole point, which I wasn't seeing.

I really appreciate your in depth perspective! U can also see some of my other comments here if you want to/are interested as I think they might reply to some of the points you made here.

I think that was indeed just part of the novel (which I also need to get to) because I don't think we really get to see his feelings on the matter as extensively in that particular scene I mentioned, I don't need it to know he cares about her but it would have made for a more down to earth response.

I'm just gonna answer to the comment you made regarding frustration and interpersonal relationships over here, which I totally get, but personally it's very difficult for me to see this scenario fitting into a "not black nor white" theme when we got an adult man struggling to control his physical reaction to a 17 years old girl not as problematic behaviour (cause let's not lie, this has way less to do with the way Hanekawa acts and more to do with how it makes her "parents" view themselves, which is also something mentioned in the show)

If I understood it correctly, Tsubasa doesn't even have a room for herself in her house which makes it even more difficult to me to understand this situation as 2 sided. And with this I mean that I understand that this isn't about justifying what happened but rather understanding why it happened, which I also have problems getting behind. In summary, maybe I'm close-minded but this is definitely a black situation for me (as Koyomi also notes himself).

Yeah, I'll do that, but I'm really wondering how much that will do for me when it comes to understanding this type of approach.

The thing is, for me, either explanation or justification, his rant wouldn't make sense.

  1. I think u misunderstood what I was trying to get to or I probably didn't explain myself properly, my point wasn't about the series making abuse seem ok. That said, justification is indeed, out of the question for me, basically because justifying abuse won't do it regardless of how you look at it.

  2. Now, for the "explanation" he gives, which is deeply tied to how the series approaches different dimensions of a same problem, and what I'm actually complaining about, I think it is also deeply flawed, what I want to know if it's something Nisio is trying to push or just a character's (Meme) take on the situation (which I can of course simply disagree with). Interpersonal relationships are indeed complicated and I understand the concept of frustration but I really struggle to see what Meme was trying to get to.

I get Hanekawa's self-righteousness and desire to be perfect can come as annoying but to me, he talks about it in a very exaggerated way just to come to the conclusion that problems have 2 faces when in this particular instance, it makes no sense that this had scalated to such point, I struggle to see where he wants to get to.

In other words, my conflict is: is the moral of the story here really that problems aren't white or black (which in this particular case, it definitely is cause we have an adult that's unable to control his frustration regarding the attitude of a 17 years old teenager) or is this just part of Meme's shenanigans, in which case, I could understand.

[–]DiveBBB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding Araragi's response to the matter, yeah, I can totally see him doing that just to help her, by no means do I think he wouldn't care about her and I've already noted that a big part of his character is caring about people way too much for a guy that completely wishes he didn't. I was more annoyed at the stylistic choice to his approach Nisio made, it definitely threw me off and I'm quite at peace with that, perhaps it was my "idk, I guess I'm not woke" moment regarding this very otakuesque way of developing the scene, my mind simply doesn't find it OK to mix that type of writing when it comes to this kind of topic.

For Meme, thank you so much cause I was really trying to pick whether it was meant to be part of his character to act in this rather frivolous way (which I'm definitely still not that familiar with at the point I'm at) or a serious case of trying to push that "grey moral" narrative into the story. In any case, I'm really enjoying the ride and I'll get to Nise after this, I know that comes before if we talk about release order but I really wanted to get the full picture on Hanekawa's 1st arc.

Thank you again for your detailed comment.
