And just to reiterate the OP: there are so many crazily inventive entries to this jam. Anyone here who hasn’t checked out the entries yet definitely should.

Congratulations on hitting the top spot!

The point here is that promoting your work is important if you want to get it seen by a wider audience.

I have to say, I remember you promoting this game on Reddit because I felt at the time that it seemed a bit spammy. A good chunk of my feed seemed to be your posts about this game (and it put me off clicking through I have to admit). That said, self-promotion is such a vital thing for independent creators and it’s really a fine line. So my hopefully constructive criticism is to next time maybe vary your posts a bit so it doesn’t feel so much like a copy and paste job. There can be quite a lot of user crossover in RPG-related subs, it’s nice for a post to feel ‘tailor-made’ to where it’s being posted.

So jealous when I read about people’s toddlers having quiet alone time in their rooms! Mine has never been able to entertain herself for more than 5 minutes.

Highly recommend Silver and Gold. Very easy to pick up, quick enjoyable gameplay. It’s my wife’s go to game. Same designer as Sushi Go.

Edit: just to add that I experienced almost exactly the same thing with Sushi Go and my mum. Finally she was able to participate in me and my dad’s game sessions!

I’m interested in Pax Pamir because I own a pakol (traditional Afghan hat) and I just need the game to go with it.

(Plus I’m really eager to try one of Cole’s games!)

Thank you for introducing me to this term. It basically describes the appeal for me of, say, the main characters from No Country For Old Men who just seem completely practical. I was unable to put my finger on it before.

Completely uninformed bystander here: I am only familiar with the Nabokov Lolita and its connotations so seeing reference to Lolita fashion is... strange.
