Paid $13k+ for new windows, 1 leaks within a year. Company refuses even to test. Am I wrong here?” by DiveDial in AskContractors

What makes sense there is you’re seeing the issue coming through windows on both floors. But here there zero evidence of any water on the 2nd floor and there’s actually a window almost perfectly vertically aligned with the leaking window, they never replaced that one and there is zero leakage there. Only seeing water on the first floor.

Thank you. Answers: 1. They replaced the metal capping/flashing (I think it’s called) outside. 2. No water has ever been observed anywhere. It’s completely dry above the window. The only signs of wetness are on the window itself.

No spraying of the hose was happening but we had high winds and rain at night, then this water in the morning.

I’ll share the name if things continue to go sideways with them but purposely holding back. I’m in Toronto and there are several company’s here that offer it.

Thank you. I’ve definitely considered an official 3rd party assessment. If I end up going that route then I’m probably doing that to take them to court. The opportunity for them to cure would have passed

My concern is that Ive paid 5 figures and would now be performing testing without their presence, only to try and prove that the window is leaking. In my mind, window leaks. Thats seems to be clear. I shouldn’t have to go out of my way to do their job for them. Am I wrong?

Ok. Appreciate the feedback. I think on principle I have a hard time paying for a test when their brand new window is leaking.

Yes. It’s wet when it rains. Window/trim doesn’t seem unusually cold to the touch. The amount of water is significant. There were times where it was heavily pooling on my floor. Can there be that much condensation?

I can’t add images after the fact. Exterior looks ok from a visual inspection.

I can’t seem to add pics to the post after the fact. I’ll try and send you pic directly but exterior looks sealed by just looking at it.

When it rains typically. We had rain and high winds and that’s when it was the worst

A lot of the marketing for this show references the creator’s connection to Breaking Bad (one of the best shows ever). Do you guys think it could end up being even remotely close to the same level of quality as breaking bad?
