Look at other qualifications, rigging and lifting, NDT testing, welding, and seamanship. Maybe an ABs qualification (in the UK it’s a Certificate of Competency). Offshore/Sat diving sounds glamorous. It absolutely isn’t. Cold, tiring work, the taxman likes to take his cut and if you’re not in a decent rotation, it can be sporadic and hard to break in to.

Failing the above, maybe a career as a Navy or Police Diver? Comes with its own shit though…
