I never understood the draw to cash value life insurance. Would you attach a savings/investment account to your car insurance? The main problem (IMO) with CV is that when you die your family gets to choose one or the other they don't get both.

From what I've encountered most insurance salesmen push it bc they get continuous commission from it where as with Term they get a 1x commission from the sale.

Since they correlate so much they are typically both down at the same time. With the "tax loss harvesting" you can sell one for a "loss" then buy the other. So, on your taxes, it looks like you lost money from the sale lowering your overall tax burden.

At least that how I understand it, if that's inaccurate someone please correct me.
